Actually, Wayne is correct. But there is a way to mount a 15lb bottle sideways w/o a hitch, as long as you tilt the siphon tube towards the back so it may siphon liquid, NOT gas. Keep the valve forward a small amount ahead of the bottom of the bottle. You'll be fine, experience says so!

Albert C. is an NX dealer from TX. I'm sure he could further assist you with the install.

Regards,
Doug

HMS made a good point in that the bottle opener is activated by a momentary switch and due to its design, you can't tell if it is on or off. Pressure is maintained in the bottle and in the line once the opener is activated(unless the line has a leak)so reading pressure, as a open/closed method is difficult.

Another thing to consider. BOTTLE OPENERS LEAK. Its a lazy mans valve. Leave it on long enough and you will not have any nitrous in your bottle.

I recommend turning on the bottles before you head out of the house and turn them back off when you return home. Your system should have an activation switch that will not allow engagement if activation switch is not on.

Save $ 150 bucks and the headache of never knowing for sure if you have nitrous available or not.

Does the 15lbs. bottle of nitrous fit in the trunk with the automatic valve opener installed and the valve portion facing the interior? I know that I could always turn it sideways but Ive heard that thats not good for performance.

Time is not wasted heating the mass of the metal bottle. The heat is transfered directly to the NOS. No one has mentioned the wet system and the need to heat the propane. If you are in a cold weather city, if you don't heat the propane (min 160 psi)you won't maintain fuel/air ratio.

I will have to respectably disagree with John & Tom on the bottle opener. I have have one and I like it a lot. When used with a purge valve it make using nitrous on the street much more convenient. I drive my car every day (1,000+ miles per month) so I never know when a "situation" may arise that calls for the use of the juice. It's true, they are unreliable and prone to fail after a while. I always hit the purge before each start up as a test for the bottle opener, to make sure there is no nitrous in the line. You never want to leave pressurized nitrous in your lines when the car is not running. However if you just take your car out once per week then I would agree, a bottle opener presents more problems than it may be worth.

I've seen Hennessey's NX install recently.Jason at Hennessey Motorsports does an incredible job of functionality and quality of install. It has some nice custom fabricated pieces and seems to be very reliable.
Lots of locals going for his complete setup.
