No heat coming from my \'94???

I got my snake on Sat. - '94 with 8k miles on it, mint. Drove it here tonight in Ct. with no windows but with hard top on. It was about 47 degrees out, so I went to try out the heater - nothing but cool air?! I drove the car for almost an hour, still no change, I had it all the way over to the warmest setting on the right, only cool air coming through... A/C works great - any thoughts?

Where was you temp gauge showing? If your car has the 180 degree thermostat, then you may get only luke warm air at best.

Did you have the switch on floor vents or dash vents? The heater only works when in the floor mode. The heater a/c system is not a blend system in Gen I/II. a/c above or heat below, take your choice.

Any heat in the defroster mode? I like to drive my RT with the windows in, top off, and the defroster blowing warm air to keep the cabin toasty warm!

Really - so I can only get heat going when the dial is set on the floor? Why would that activate the heat setting - why does that matter - never seen that on a car before...

See if the heater core is connected. If there is hot water going through it you would be getting some heat.

By the way, if you find it disconnected, it might have been leaking.

My guess is that you need to top off your anti-freeze! If you need instruction I can walk you through it. Don't know if anything changed from 92-94. In 92 you have to pull the overflo tube off the top of the radiator (passenger side)and insert a small funnel on the end of it. The hose is narrow so I put a little car wax on the end of the funnel. The mix half anit-freeze half water and slowly add coolant until it spills on the ground. This is not the best way to top it off but it is most practical. You could turn your steering wheel and look in the passenger side front wheel well. There is a large rubber stopper to pull out and veiw the level in the coolant bottle. Shine a flashlight to see coolant level.

Funny thing when I pulled my from fascia off I found that the bottle has a snap top on it. :) For sure I topped it off before I put the front fascia on.
