No matter what, yellow is definitely faster... (pics)

I'll post more details and pics about adding 400+ miles on the Viper this weekend, but thought you might enjoy a couple previews in the meantime. The Ford was just delivered yesterday evening. Pretty slick!

Oh, and this is just a small part of a Very Viper weekend here in Kansas City, but you will have to wait for the rest of the story... :2tu:

Yellow is a great color, and the beast looks better than the Ford in my humble opinion.

See photo again: The problem with the Ford someone can quickly break the back window and steal your engine before you know it.

Here is one of the more interesting design features. Maybe I am missing something (not as technical as I should be), but why would you install a rear window defroster when it is directly over a VERY hot engine? Maybe it is a double-pane window, as I didn't pay enough attention to that detail in retrospect.

And no, not my car but they did offer to let me trade for the day... :2tu:

Think those are coolant wires. They chill the glass to keep it from getting too hot and cracking. Of course I could be wrong TOO!.

Two fantastic looking cars. I think the yellow one is definitly the faster.

Better check the engine temps on the Viper. It seems to be charring the paint where it comes out of the gills...Maybe caused by the afterburners! :2tu: :

and there was no race because why????

Well, we chatted about it and then he pulled out his latest list of recalls on the GT. Then, just to be sure he called Ford customer service in India. They informed him that the latest three recalls had occurred just a few minutes earlier, and that unless he had a size 11 gym sock with dual red stripes at the top (to somehow be used in the steering column), he should not drive the car over 10 mph. Indeed, they seemed horrified that the vehicle had actually been moved outside of a garage and suggested he might want to get it out of the sun. That was when we learned it had actually started out as a white car with blue stripes, but ended up getting sunburned. Apparently nobody at Ford anticipated one of these babies actually going outside... ;)

And in all seriousness, he was a GREAT guy (offered me the keys) and it is a great car. No tags on it yet and only 170 miles. I don't think it will be run hard just yet. But we shall see!

Nice pics!

I would like to have one but I am not in a big hurry to pay over msrp. I have been watching the prices and they are starting to fall. Get me to sticker and I am all over a yellow GT. :2tu:

Yea, I have to agree the SRT does look better. But the GT40 is still one bad ass car. Good to see Ford has stepped its game up.

Both cars look great! However, Chris the second photo of the rear three quarter panel of the two really makes the GT outshine the SRT. After that photo, they're about dead even in the "Killer Looks" dept.

Cheers,

Jay K.

P.S. "Where's the Blue N White One??"
