I will second that.....Calvin and Ohio VCA and Paul S are one heck of hosts.... from beginning to the end of our stay!!!!!

Tony thank you again for airplane ride and the tour of great lakes and Cedar point.... I am afraid to go down dragstrip at 136 mph in 10 sec.....but I very nervous when you let Larry Macedo drive the plane.

It was fun! Nice to have a drag event close to home. I got to meet Kenny and Tony who were getting some dragstrip time with their new Roe s/c GTSs, tuners, and some of the other owners. I'll bring my GTS next time! Too bad no one from MI came..

Rohn, I think the fast et on radials and slicks went to Cudaman (Ward)...10.80 and 10.55. There was a problem on the starting line in the final and Cudaman got second in mod2. I didn't see another car in the tens. I'm sorry, I don't remember the gentlemans name that won first ($1000) There must not have been a courtesy staging rule and he went ahead and staged, then when Ward stopped after doing his burnout the car just happened to stop "deep staged" meaning the prestage bulb was off and the stage bulb was on......I think he was going to back up to stage normally but when the computer saw both cars staged it started its cycle and went green so if I am correct Ward got caught in reverse when the tree went green.....it was a Pro-tree....for those that don't know what a pro-tree is: all three yellows come on at once and then 4/10's or 5/10's later the green comes on. 4/10's and 5/10's are used depending on the class. Either way you MUST leave when you see the first hint of yellow to get any decent reaction time. I am glad they were using a pro-tree because it is used in 95% of real heads up racing. Sometimes you must courtesy stage and sometimes it is an automatic red light if you deep stage.....those rules were not in effect so it was a legal race. The bracket class was using a full tree and I think rdustman got second place in that class.
Myself and Larry Macedo and Ward went up for a flight later in the day and Larry ended up flying us around over the great lakes and the huge amusement park at Sandusky. It was real cool having the runway and drag stip next to each other, we rode the golf cart and a four wheeler back and forth.
Also if someone would help me with the name of the gentleman that owned the host motorhome.......he let us use his truck to go to and from the party and that was a huge help to us.....Thanks.

p.s. plenty of over flights but they were at a "terrorist safe" altitude.

Tony, Sam Goldfarb had the motorhome. I feel sorry for Ward on the staging incident. The tree was on auto and thought Ward was staged. Jim Poma lit up booth bulbs just as Ward finished the burn out. Bang the tree was on automatic.
Jack Bene' was also in the tens. 10.77. Where were the hitters?

44 cars on the grounds. Most just hangin out. We had 14 cars in the lanes for qualifing. Decided to take the
fast 4 for the Mod 2 shootout. Times between 10.50 and 11.40. So we paid $1000 for two rounds, pretty good money.
At least eight cars previously committed did not show, Heffner 3 cars, Boggs, two cars from Ill, Texas? and a Michigan Roe Car.
Ten cars ran the bracket. for $500.

I'm really sorry I couldn't make it with my Heffner S/C car, it was totally out of my control--it sounds like it was a good time. At least nobody has yet to break my record of 10.22 ET (supercharged only) that has stood for more than 6 months.

Well, I showed up! It was my 3rd and 4th days of drag racing my Viper - my experience level is going up rapidly!

Larry Macedo, bless his heart, found something that prevented some big trouble with my Viper the day before the drags began - my fuel pump was not pumping enough fuel to safely run past 5000 RPMs if I wanted to take 10 pistons home with me. Earlier this year I had 55 psi at idle and on Thursday it was down to 50 psi at idle and above 5200 RPM it was down to 40 psi. Larry also found out my Roe Supercharger was giving me more than the 5 pound boost, which coupled with the low fuel pressure would have meant some very unhappy pistons. I did pull off over half my runs at 12.1 ET at 119+ MPH just shifting at 5000 RPM on the factory Michelins. Yes, I drove there and back home again on the same original Michelins that came on the car. BTW- Thanks, JonB of PartsRack for having that sale on rear tires - I'm going to have to put on my rear tires I bought from you in the next couple of weeks.

It was one of the best times I've ever had meeting so many Viper owners whose names you'd recognise. I ditto everything posted previously here, especially Calvin Smith's Viper Party - I stayed until 1 AM and some people stayed all night! Viper Magazine was there and took a spectacular photo of over 30 Vipers parked in front of Calvin's Garage with their owners standing next to their Vipers. It is especially spectacular because only one Yellow Viper showed up and it was in the front row parked next to where I was standing. :D

An extra special thanks goes out to Corsa's Jim Browning, Jr. who gave up part of his Sunday with his family to open up the Corsa factory to reconnect two pipes in my Corsa 3" Cat Back that had pulled out from each other from the engine torque my Roe Supercharged Viper while drag racing. I short while later I had that special Corsa sound again. I tried to pay him for all the work he did on his day off fixing my Viper, but he wouldn't take any money so I told him that I would pay him tribute here. Then I drove home to Centerville, Ohio and he went to find where he had left his family.

Tony:

A little more history, there were a lot of bad clutches. Gerald, [******], Suloff and myself. I ran a 10.77 on Friday with a 1.72, 60', not a very good sixty, however, I had just did several chasis modes and was looking for the sweet spot to launch.

I smoked the clutch the first run on Saturday. The clutch would allow me to launch, however, would not release, thus, totally locking me out of third. I kept hoping it would cool down and start releasing, it did not.

The one bright spot was a 1.451 60' on one of my two gear runs. Also on Friday with a good clutch I had a heads-up run with Ward (he had street tires), it was a win and I had a pretty good speed of 135.5.

I thought of two replies  :

1. Thanks Bill but I might have to get a job if I did that.
2. I would hate to trade down from a Mooney.

I want to see more party pics !!
