Hi all,

Frequent lurker on the boards, and as I get closer to my gen 1 purchase this year, I was curious to know even if the car will fit in one of my smaller garage bays (a little under 8 feet in width). Do the gen 1 mirrors fold in? If not, are the published "overall widths" inclusive of the mirrors?
( Try not to flame me too badly...I bruise easily).
Thanks,
Craig

Of all the unmitigated gall, to come in here and ask a question! :) heh heh....

I dunno, I'm a Gen2 guy, and my mirrors fold in.

Gen1 folks, some help?

Go ahead and buy it, it will fit your garage.

I measured my 1993 Gen1 and it is:
at mirrors 6'8"
at exhaust tips 6'8"

And yes the mirrors fold in, but wount help you, since the pipes are protruding out of the body and wheels.
Thats why many of the cars have scuff marks on the rims or the side pipes.

Good luck with your Viper purchase!

Craig,
Should be no problem with 8 feet wide doors, but will have to take it easy backing in or out!!
I have a 9' and wouldn't go smaller..

Thanks RedEnuf,

I was crossing my fingers for that answer. Some reports I was reading had the car wider than my '99 Dakota. I'm in Ct and will be purchasing over the next couple of months. Thanks again.

If it doesn't fit, I have some spare room in mine, I'll let you drive her on the weekend's.

By the way, What color are you getting?

Brandon: I'm going to try red this time around. The Dakota is black with white stripes, so a matching black car is tempting, but I have to go red for the car.

the only problem will be getting in and out. put some soft material on the wall where the door will inevitabaly hit sooner or later

9 foot or even 8 foot, such luxury. I get the GTS through my 7 foot garage door, wouldn’t dream of reversing in though.
