Has any new 2008 owner installed a driver's side kit successfully yet? I'm interested in the 1" kit. The '08's have a "computer translation" device boxed under the driver's seat and I'd like to know whether it interferes with lowering the seat.

Anyone???

Yes, on both the driver and passenger side successfully although on the passenger side there is a stereo amp or some other piece of equipment that causes some slight rubbing on the bottom of the passenger seat when it is moved to the most extreme aft position. Sliding the seat just slightly forward eliminates this problem. My local Viper techs did the install and I can e-mail you their contact info if you need it.

I just installed a 2-inch kit. It fit fine over the electronic box you reference (I don't have my service manual yet, so I didn't know what that was.) You might also need to consider this on a 1-inch kit...I needed to zip tie the seat proximity sensor to metal (a one inch black plastic sensor) which I'm guessing is used to turn off air bag deployment for those who sit w. their seat forward, on top of their steering wheel.

Be careful not to scratch your interior when fumbling with the seat

. A rag-top should be easy.
