Seems like I get these questions more and more, and with the turnover rates as high as they are these days... it seems posts like this are needed!

So, you have a Gen-3/4/5... and your oil lines are leaking. Just replace them with whatever, right? Wrong. The most common replacement that unknowing owners install are replacement factory lines. I think it goes without saying, DON'T DO IT. They will simply fail again, as they are a horrible design. To add insult to injury, they are not cheap. You are basically paying a premium for a future problem to be dropped in your lap.

That's where the aftermarket comes in. And, I can tell you... you get what you pay for. There are many options out there, and multiple shops offer quality products that are all very similar.

That's where we differ. These other shops offer a relatively standard product, and offer a single version. VSP offers not one... but *SIX* different line variations, and not a single one of those is anything like what competitors offer. So whats the difference? We don't use JIC fittings. EVER. They are fragile, prone to leaks, non-swivel once tightened, prone to leaking from over-tightening, prone to galling from their internal assembly ring, and in general... better suited for steel hydraulic lines than aluminum Race components.

Full disclosure... our lines aren't cheap, and we aren't a budget-based vendor. The clamps alone in some of our lines exceed the entire cost of competitor line sets. We are here to do things differently, not just do what everyone else does.

So what do we use? Direct-Port ORB which are not dependent on tightness [full dual swivel at all times] and HydraFlow equipped hose designs, of 3 different and distinct materials, in 6 different formats:

1. Base tier: stainless braided rubber lines, Black nylon covered, Red direct-port ORB ends, reusable end style. [Discontinued after current stock depletes]

2. Pro-Plus No-QD: 3-Layer [Teflon/Aramid/Silicone], Black/Nickel direct-port ORB ends, crimp style. [Replaced #1]

3. Pro-Plus 2-QD: 3-Layer [Teflon/Aramid/Silicone], Black/Nickel/Purple HydraFlow Tool-less quick-connect on engine side, Black/Nickel direct-port ORB ends on cooler side, crimp style.

4. Pro-Plus 4-QD: 3-Layer [Teflon/Aramid/Silicone], Black/Nickel/Purple HydraFlow Tool-less quick-connect on all ends crimp style.

5. HS79 2-QD: 5-Layer [Teflon/Silicone-Stainless/Aramid/Rubber], Black/Nickel/Purple HydraFlow Tool-less quick-connect on engine side, Black/Nickel direct-port ORB ends on cooler side, crimp style.

6. HS79 4-QD: 5-Layer [Teflon/Silicone-Stainless/Aramid/Rubber], Black/Nickel/Purple HydraFlow Tool-less quick-connect on all ends, crimp style.

Prices range from $449 to $1195 depending on type of hose material and QD count. However, a point to factor is how much install time Quick Disconnects can save, especially in future service. You get a big chunk of your money back, and being able to install with sockets instead of wrenches saves butchering the finishes.

Out products are not for everyone. But for those people looking to install the best product available, we are here!

Just a few pictures...

Thanks Dan, just the mere fact you're presenting options to a niche marketplace, I'm thankful.

These have all been available for over a decade, actually [except #2]... its just that the market turnover and "cheap option shoppers" have dogpiled them out of view.

I ordered a set of the Pro plus 4QD lines back in 2019 from Dan. First off, Dan, thank you! These lines are worth the price and are awesome and have been performing FLAWLESSLY these past almost 6 years now. 2nd, i went with the 4QD lines because i did not want to have to drop the pan to put them on. I did not have to drop the pan and it was not hard to get them on without dropping the oil pan. Simply took the old ones off and put the new ones on, they fit right into place with no fuss or struggle to get them in there. 3rd, Dan provided some additional install tips which were very helpful.

Don't cheap out if you're at the point of needing to replace your oil cooler lines. Dan's stuff is all top notch and you can't go wrong with his offerings!

Thank you sir!

Just to clarify though, none of our current lines *require* dropping the pan, it just makes things monumentally easier on lines without quick disconnects on them. Its kinda one of those "well, if you have any reason to remove the pan... that would be the time" situations.
