I have been bombed about this A/C box plate.

And it is about the same thing, who made the cover, how much, would you make one for me.
I wish I could help, but I simply dont have time.

Are there any suppliers that have 2-3mm (or similar)aluminum and would like to make few bucks?
It's simple, make a cardboard templet, cut out of aluminum, smooth out edges, polish and sell to the hungry ones! :2tu:

Someone please steal my idea and sell it to the other GEN1 and GEN2 guys.. It is not patented, so feel free to copy and sell a boatload of them. This box is ugly as H3ll, this will fix it! :nana:

Thanks for the help, Lauri

Damn Lauri, I am going to plant my ass on the wheelwell, put a plate full of chicken and ribs on top of the blower and I am then going to eat off of your motor! I would be afraid to drive that car it is to clean. Looks really good, a little to much bling for my tastes but you pulled it off. Congrats!!

I would take one of each. (A/C box plate and the sub enclosure)

I might try and make the A/C cover for my car here in the following weeks as time permits. Looks/sounds easy enough and the end result is sweet!
Local audio store quoted $250 for a sub enclosure custom made for my floorboard. They also said that I would loose ~6" of leg room.

Thanks for the pictures and info,

Ray.

the quote for the sub box, what was that made of...just mdf? if so over time it will swell due to the placement of the heat vent, and if your floorboard ever gets damp from being caught in the rain. i am in the process of redoing my sub enclosure and it will be mdf covered with fiberglass, painted black with small rubber feet to keep it in place during takeoff, and carpeted front matching the flooring carpet. i have considered making a few extras, just not sure as to the value vs cost and time to make. what would be a price that would be worth it to everyone. this box will house a jl10w3 and takes the foot room from the front most opening of the door forward....sub would not be included.

Lauri, thanks for the idea... :2tu:

Iam going to template one and mix it up, probably do some polished, some colored, and some etched.

I use to restore my own muscle cars before I turned to Vipers, thought I would never need the shop tools again, will be nice to work with the metal again.

I will post when I get some ready...

Thanks,Rick

Hi Lauri,
First of all, Awesome car and incredible engine! :2tu:
Quick question...I was wondering what means you used to attach the plate to the air box?
Thanks,
Lance

no double sided tape will not hold. The temps under the hood and the slight bend in the cover will cause it to lift.

I don't know. I've used some squishy foam style double sided tape on nitro RC trucks that is extremely strong. I would be surprised if this stuff wouldn't hold even given the excessive temps.

Dan glued it in using some heavy duty glue/adhesive.
Wanna chime in Dan?
