The Sandhills Open Road Challenge invites any and all Vipers to the third annual road racing event and one mile shoot out. The SORC takes place near Arnold, Nebraska on August 7-9. The road race portion of the event consists of 55 miles of twists and turns (47 turns in 29 miles) on a closed county black top road. The one mile shoot out takes place on another closed county road with each car receiving three passes. A number of Vipers have entered this year of which several are hoping to take the King Of The Hill award in the shoot out. A 90 ZR-1 won the event last year with two other Corvettes taking second and third. The fastest Viper was a GTS that was five MPH slower than the third place Corvette.
