This would mess up my day! Go Ford...
I'm sure it'll buff right out.

Another forum I frequent is also frequented by a firefighter who responded to that call. Here are some facts:
The Ferrari was traveling north bound, and sitting in traffic waiting to get into the left turn lane. There is a driveway on the east side of the road that is before the intersection where the Ferrari would turn left.
The traffic stopped short to leave a gap at the driveway so the truck could make a left turn and head southbound. There was no southbound traffic coming down through the intersection.
The truck driver looked north (to his right) to make sure the southbound lane was clear, and as the northbound traffic had created a gap for him to drive through while they waited for the light, he proceeded through across the northbound lanes and turned southbound.
At the same time, the Ferrari driver, looking at the southbound lanes and seeing no traffic, decided to jump over into the southbound lane to scoot up into the northbound left-turn lane. As he was proceeding forward, the truck turned left into the lane (not expecting there to be a north bound car there), and the impact occurred.
As for his comments...I think he handled himself VERY well....if some idiot was sticking a camera in my face asking me if my brand new Ferrari, sitting underneath a pickup, was my favorite model, I might have decked him. His comment, though a tad snarky, was a well placed "get out of my face."
Based on those facts, the F150 driver is at fault IF the Ferrari was in the northbound lane. If the Ferrari was going north in the south bound lane whether partially or fully, fault would be mutual and the insurance companies could fight it out.
I still don't get why police have to waste so much time and effort writing crash reports. Most all, aside from DUI and a couple of other exceptions, are civil in nature. Get a lawyer and plead your side.
As for his attitude... I get the impression most of you here would be guilty of the same demeanor if it were your viper underneath a pickup - AND it's not a far cry that you'd be blaming the other party just like this guy.

Yep... I'm all for being courteous to other Driver's on the road but nothing drives me more crazy than watching some idiot over-reach to be courteous to 1 driver while screwing 15 cars behind him....
I've had people pull up short on me too many times. Most likely what happened to the Ferrari driver. And the right thing to do is go around them.
The car in front of him was at fault, like noted above, for trying to let someone go. People have a hard time seeing outside the small box that surrounds them.
The Ford driver made a left over a double yellow. He is at fault and I hope ends up paying for it. Not sure FL laws, but PA is a no fault state. I got rear-ended in my Viper while stopped at a stop light. It was blatent enough, they made her ensurance cover everything. Funny thing was she was high as a kite and I was questioned for Marajuana use! This case can go either way. And like said above, if it was your Viper, you'd be ripping that guys head off!
