Those are just lay-overs. They look ******** and can easily be pulled off. They do come in handy if your covers are flaking REAL BAD, but other than that, forgetaboutit.

I bought mine on Ebay for $44.5K. Had 24K miles, Roe Racing Computer, Roe Smooth Tubes, Roe Air Filter, Custom Exhaust (w/ QuickSilver Tips), Calarion Touch Screen Stereo, Cross Drill/Slotted Rotors, EBC Pads.

If you buy on Ebay I suggest you do a few things to make sure you are safe:
1. Do the CarFax report
2. Get the car inspect by a professional mechanic and/or Viper Tech.
3. Do a criminal background check on the current owner (this SAVED me from a scam once before)
4. Get the title before you pay. If the owner does not have the title yet (bank holds it), pay the lending party directly (the bank that is) NOT the owner.
5. Of course I suggest you take possession of the car the moment there is a monetary transfer.

Negotiate! Negotiate! Negotiate!

Oh Yeah - and it is beautiful Sapphire Blue (with stripes of course)

Explaining Viper things to you
Yeah... Those valve covers. :bling: There's a lot of adhesive backed stainless steel bling for Vipers, of which I think every single bit looks stupid. Like was said, it comes off, and hopefully not with the red paint stuck to it.

Suggest you check out the status of the stripes as the OEM stripes only went through the license plate area on the '96.

If he had a non-stripe car, it would have been 5k higher. :lmao:

Are you looking to buy this for yourself? Or resale? I noticed you were looking at some other cars on the threads.

Me. I am looking for a GTS, with stripes, not red or yellow. My preference is the 2001 Saphire. I am realizing that the ads in the classifieds are not deleted when the cars sell. Learning alot along the way ( a good thing!)from this site.

Here is a good thread to read if you haven't already found it. It has some really good information for someone who is new. Check it out.

Have you owned a Viper before? If you haven't you might want to find your closest Viper Club-to checkout other cars and maybe find out who is selling their car? It's nice to know the background on the car you buy. Might save you some $$ and headache in the future.
Good luck in your search.

I haven't owned one but I did reach out to the local club and was extremely pleased with assistance I recieved. Without asking, ASPMAN went and looked over a car for me and sent me his review which was a big help. Because of him, I started to learn where to look...
Being in Canada, the bargains seem to be south of the border at the moment. 50k is the limit I have set, so I think I have to shop wisely
