I too went with an Interstate when it was time.

The store that sold me the Interstate also sells Optimas and suggest against buying one as they get many returns/exchanges.

We sell Interstate at my shop. IIRC our local Interstate distributer said that they now make the Optima. Not sure if they now own Optima, but I will ask.

Anyway....

What I am getting to is that they get back over 50% of the Optimas they sell, they are junk.

I am trying to switch over to Exide, we have had much better results with them than the Interstates we have been selling.

I've had two Optima batteries. One that lasted 4 years and went with the totalled '94 and the other for 6+ years in my '01. I've never had any problems, but each of the cars was a daily driver. Maybe that's the difference. BTW, I have seen where a MOPAR battery puked all over the rear of the car.

I had a red top vent on my old Cherry Jeep cj-7. Flawless red candyapple paint!! The venting of the acidic gas rolled out the engin bay and down my paint on each side. Optima would have nothing to do with it and told me to take them to court! I just filed a claim with my insurance and was done with it.

I let everyone know NEVER to buy one. I have cost them at least 200+ sales with all of my customers over the last 5 years, and told the people to tell their friends too...
ya... they can kiss my a$$ too!!!

Two different Optima batteries, two different Vipers, both left me stranded on the road.
One was caused by arching to the frame and the other, who knows. Both times, pulled into a parking lot, shut it off, dead when trying to restart. Junk batteries.
