All indications is that you won't want to hold your breath. The GTS developement is supposedly on the shelf, so we won't see one for a very long time. Figure if they change their minds, it took 4 years to go from RT-10 to GTS. I think the only thing that will get DC to build a GTS is for current Viper owners to show extreme interest in purchasing one.
Just post the phone number you would suggest calling to show our
interest! I'd call! The RT/10 is ok, But I've bought three Vipers! (all GTS's) I just don't think the RT is right for me.
Don't the GTS's out sell the RT's by a bunch?
I don't forsee buying another Viper until (and unless) the next gen. coupe is introduced. I understand that a lot of people from DC follow this site so perhaps if future coupe customers post up, the powers that be will listen and, as Bill suggested, set a course toward bringing a closed version to showrooms (hopefully sooner than later). Or you could call Tony.
I understand that the new GTS was killed at least 6 mo. ago. DC
stopped all development including any consideration for racing it again. It is dead and my never be built due to high costs which they may never get a return on with a low production car.
This is no longer Chrysler Corp. with Bob Lutz & Crew who made the Gen I Viper a reality.
Maybe if DC gets into the green again, it may be reconsidered.
Who knows, it is always worth asking for it but don't get your hopes up.
Buy a new GTS now if you want a new GTS. They may be the last one's made, forever!
I have from time to time had people e-mail me with questions about the new style coupe. I think Bill might have a good idea. If any of you are really interested in the new style coupe why don't you send me an e-mail stating this. I will collect them all and forward them to the right people.
