Here's an odd question. I have two miniature dachshunds (wiener dogs) and I take them with me pretty often in my Camaro. I just inspected an 06 Viper at a dealership and I was wondering if the sidepipes could burn my dogs feet? They usually jump onto the doorsill, then onto the seat. How hot does the doorsill get? Like hot pavement in summer, or like burn your skin off?

PS - I'm probably going to buy a Viper anyway, and pick them up and put them in the car if the sills get too hot, lol, because this car is SO much more amazing in person than it is online.

In summer weather and traffic...they are hot. Lift dogs in until you can measure temps yourself.

IF the 06 has high flow cats and the crossover pipes have already been removed, sills will be much cooler.

The top of the sills aren't typically as bad as the sides, but I would probably lift them to be safe. I've never really had an issue with mine, but I also just learned to not wedge your feet under them to use as leverage when you get out of the car. I think that's how most people get the burn.
