Yep - NO new Viper, No discussions, No anything. Was I disappointed in the non-introduction .... YES!

Was I disappointed in VOI ....... NO!

Great time, a lot of fun, great people to be around and well worth the 1600 mile drive from Iowa.

There was a magician there last night that made a Corvette disappear, so I was expecting him to make a Viper appear in its place. Everyone in the room had their video cameras, digital cameras and picture phones ready; but no Viper. I sat there for a good 5 minutes after it was all over waiting for someone to call everyone back in and bring the car out.

I thought it was a little crappy to just leave the whole Viper Nation hanging like that. Just a little teaser of what's to come would have been greatly appreciated by everyone, and I think 1,000 people are going to have a long drive home feeling very let down.

There was a magician there last night that made a Corvette disappear, so I was expecting him to make a Viper appear in its place. I sat there for a good 5 minutes after it was all over waiting for someone to call everyone back in and bring the car out.

They would have been better off on Monday to announce that there would be no talk of future products, and that we're all just there to have fun. That would have gone over better than this c@#ktease.

I cannot believe how much things have changed on this forum since the release of the new Z06 after being here for the past five years. Of course all of this just as I am deciding on getting into the game. I have my eye on a beautiful 02 and hopefully I may finally make the move. Unfortunately as soon as I do the gold chain, tupperware, door stop is finally on top, crazy.

The cover story was a Heffner 1200/1200 turbo bumble bee GTS, owned by a MBZ car dealer in Arizona. "Lucas" was his name, I think.

Yea but that is only if you care about stock car comparisons. Get the 02 in a GTS a you will never look back. Their is so much more you can do if you want to mod it.

I am not one that usually mods my cars much since I like having a warranty, although I just found out that the warranty is not tranferrable on the 02 I am looking at, arghhhhhhhhh. I would probably eventually put on smooth tubes and filters, cat back and a 3.55 rear eventually but that is probably it.

How much do you think not being able to get the additional 2 3/4 years warranty affect the desirability and value of this car. I really wanted that safety net especially since he is asking top dollar IMHO. The bad thing is it is a private sale so I can't even get a used car warranty. I have an aftermarket warranty from Continental on my MB and it is not worth the value of the paper it is written on.

agentf 1. you can get a dodge maxicare warranty on that car,that would be good until 7 years from the in-service date, for under 2k from one of the viper friendly dealers on this site.........go for it.

Sorry for the (bad) joke. I was left speechless by the ending of the presentation at VOI. No way, no how - should a vette been up on the big stage.

I can understand that there may be many reasons for not showing the new Viper (and it easily could have been as simple as timing), but they should have at least had one of the test mules that have been sighted around detroit up there to give us some hope that they were working on SOMETHING.

You know what would have been a kick? If they did a spoof video on all the speculation and pent up demand to know more about the next Viper... add all sorts of funny fake mule test drive footages around UFO's and such (Vegas is near AREA 51)... bloopers and such. Then end with something along the lines of "The best is yet to come... stay tuned."

That might not have made everyone happy, but it would have been better than a Vette on center stage at a Viper event. I'd respect a girl more if she told me up front that I wasn't going to get any on the first date, than one that c***teases. Tell me I'm wrong here.
