Here is a pic with the camera on the ground. You really can't see anything from above.

I'm fixing to put the kit on my GTS. If I can remember I'm gonna take pics of the install process. Roe's instructions leave a little to be desired in the illustration department. I'll post 'em when done. I know there have been several people wondering about just how much hacking and grunting is involved with this.

I should have taken pics along the way. I cut it with a razor knife. The inner plastic was a little harder. I did it in an evening. Not all that hard, just work slow.

Is this the Cooling Duct Fascia kit? Any results on cooling noted?

Hey Pat,

This is the kit to install period:omg: It's not mine but is an excellant mod. Temps on the track are 20'-30' lower:drive: and around town about the same as long as the car is MOVING and NOT in stop & go traffic. You have to have air moving:omg: DUH:2tu:

I have it on:eater: plus alot of others I know:drive: and it's worth every penny:rolaugh: :rolaugh: :rolaugh:

One thing I've noticed with the kit is that there is some interference when putting in the R-hooks to tie down the car on the trailer. Where as before I could put them in from the side of the car, I now have to go below the car to put them in. Not a big deal but the shield is close to the sloted hole in the frame.

Perhaps one could install it with that thought in mind and get more clearance, not sure. It was an oversite during my install and to late now to change.

I didn't go to the track in Sept as planned. Will go Oct 10th. I did notice it ran cooler at speed during the hot spell we just had. I suspect it will be significantly cooler at the track.

Big 2nd on that. Directions (particularly the illustration) are horrible. I inverted the aluminum piece that you can see in the picures above so that is is totally above the urethane of the facia and you cannot see it at all from that view. I riveted the short side of that piece (what you see in the pics above) to the top side of the facia on the back edge of the cut hole, then cut two pie shapes out of the wide side of that piece and bent it back over top of the trimmed shroud. Super clean install but definitely different than above.

Yes, I have the same problem. The R hooks do put a dent in the side of the fascia kit. When hooking up the tow straps, you do need to get in a little further with your hand from a different angle.

Like to see more pics if possilbe.
How long did it take to install?

Sorry...I missed your post.

I did it in one evening. Even taking my time double checking each measurement I'd say only a couple of hours.

I see the aluminium being the lowest point of the car? I live in BC where all the roads are Mountain roads. We often have rocks and debris on the road. What's the danger of the aluminium piece smashing the oil cooler or radiator if you hit a rock or dead animal on the road?

I'm in the process of installing the kit. I plan on doing a detailed photo post of the whole process. The aluminum you see is to reinforce the OEM rubber air dam. So, rubber plus sheet aluminum does equal slightly stronger than you have now.

Personally, I'd pay attention to the road a little more, or move to a place where the rocks (boulders?) are a little tidier...

I doubt the alum would hit but you might be more prone to get debris up into the area. If that's a concern I'm sure one could adapt a small SST screen over the area at time on install.

A screen sound like a great idea. Should have seen all of the crap I blew out of my radiator this weekend while the facia was off. Having a 28" x 6" opening under the car sounds like even more potential for junk.

I'm now thinking it's another thing I should have done. I suspect it's going to be a "marble" collector at the track.
