He was alive and speaking when they extracted him from the car. It must have been internal injuries, very sad none the less to hear.

They have two sets of rumble strips there at Tertre Rouge but the second set, which is set further in towards the gravel are little mini speed bumps and I hate those things. I'm not sure why they have them there, maybe it's part of a divider for street use? From the Corvette's camera, the Aston ran wide, up on those bumps and the suspension said no way. The car turned left, right into the wall.

Well all I can tell you is this.... I was talking Kathy Stout after the unveiling and asked her when Jim was going to order one.... her reply was "just one"? LOL

Not a surprise.... Kathy does not want to have to steal Jim's ride all the time. He would get cranky if he never got his turn in his car!

THE DRIVERS PARADE LE MANS 2013

VCA member Nadine Geary from the UK was invited to bring her '26 Chrysler race car to be in the Le Mans parade. Nadine was to carry our #93 Viper GTS-R drivers in the back rumble seat. Well, right before the parade was to kick off, their was a problem with the Chrysler's electric fuel pump. After all hope of getting the car started, we decided to just have the drivers take some pictures with the car and found another car for them to ride in.

David and I helped get the car situated, and Nadine wanted David and I to go and get pictures of the parade. So we took off and started taking all the pictures of the cars and the drivers. About an hour later right as the parade was ready to step off, David and I started walking back to Nadine's car to see if we could help getting it back on the trailer.

I look down the parade line up and there is #7 Chrysler ...... Nadine took off the electric fuel pump.... disassembled it ...... put it back together and it started working! So since our drivers were already in another parade car.... David and I jumped in the back of Nadine's '26 Chrysler and NOW WE WERE IN THE PARADE!!

It was a great long weekend. As I'm sitting here in my hotel room in Paris, I wished we would have coordinated more with folks in the club. We met several great people from the Viper club, but obviously more were here. I'll try to post some photo's later this week when i get back. It was a great time. I would recommend this trip to everyone ! Hopefully we'll be back next year
