[PICS] New 2 Post Lift installed! [PICS]

Well after researching and trying to decide for quite some time I decided to go with the Direct Lift Pro 10D 2 Post overhead 10,000 lb lift. When we built our house last year I put 13 ft ceilings in my garage and installed a Jack Shaft style garage door opener to keep the ceiling clear.

I bought the lift through Derek Weaver company out of Fort Worth and they drove it down and installed it yesterday in about 5 hours. I don't use the lift for storing, but for installs and wrenching so finally having an asymetric 2 poster in my garage is about the coolest thing ever for me lol.

Parked it last night, went and had some 2 X 10's cut today to drive the car on to get the arms under my lowered SRT.

And were it spent most of the day, going over things and cleaning up the under side of the car. I am going to re route the power cord up through the attack so it won't be on the floor to clean up the install a bit.

Hey Joe! Hell I didn't do much that day Brandon did most of the drilling. I did think about it but they didn't charge much with delivery so I just figured screw it lol. Great to see you over here!

HAHA Man I was just glad to get under there and take a look at everything, I saw that I had a rear half-shaft seal that is leaking, so I need to get that fixed. Hopefully i'll have Steve's new Coupe rear here before too long so I can get working on that. In between mods....... deatiling lol

I have had a Direct Lift in my garage for a few years now and have had absolutely no issues at all. Love it. Use it alot and it is perfect for home/hobbyist use.

It looks great! I really want to add one to my garage, but I'll probably sell my current house in the next year or so and build another one, so it's not worth setting it up, drilling the floor, and changing my garage door so it goes all the way to the ceiling.
I will definitely set the garage up in the next house to be ready for a lift and put it in as soon as I'm done so I get a good 3 or so years of use out of it. I know I can take it down and move it on to the next house, but it's just not worth the extra work on the current one.

Andy, looks great! I've got a direct lift 4 post that's served me well. I don't have the room, width and height, for one like your's, wish I did.

When people ask me about lifts I always tell then to go your route if they have the room. So much easier to work on wheels, brakes suspension.

Great you posted these pictures. Now people can find them and I can use them as a reference too.

Thanks guys and pm's returned. I had them install a 220v motor since I added a 220 outlet when we built the house for it. I also made sure to take the door tracks all the way to the ceiling. I'll try to get pics later of the opener. It's made by liftmaster.

Lance it should but check with them the overhead brackets can be adjusted down and mine is on one step down from the tallest setting and my ceiling is 12' 8". So the way it sits is at 12' 5" and could come down some more.

I was thinking the same thing. My car is lowered and I'm at about 3 inches of ground clearance. It doesn't bother me a's I just kick them out of the way once it's in the air.

Very nice. The 2-post lift is the most used tool in my shop, you will wonder how you worked on cars so long without one.
