I have to say... that's the prettiest wrecked Viper I've ever seen.

Rest well this weekend, my friend. You'll need to recover to start looking for the next snake!

Hey Tom, Just be glad you are OK, didnt spend the night in jail and come back to a burned out heap of plastic. Inside joke. Seriously glad you are OK.

That looks nasty and I see the airbags deployed. That hood and bumper definitely absorbed all the impact. Glad you are OK.

Looking at that car thank god you are alright.

At the rate these cars are being wrecked and the low number made to begin with I would love to know how many are left on the road. Or should I say how many "good" ones with clean titles are left on the road or tucked away in peoples garages. I know I see a lot of junk Viper out there but the really nice ones seem few and far apart.

What are you thinking about replacing it with? It sounds like you are more of a drag racer than a road racer so I am guessing an ACR is out. Will it be another Gen II or a new one?

To all of you thank you for your concern and kind words, it really has helped me in
many ways.:2tu: YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say it's been a very emotional
day for me. I am doing ok but very sore from the accident. My main concern is not the
viper but that I'm still here. My wife suggested today to go out and have lunch with the
kids seeing how are oldest was home this weekend from college. We were all sitting
there and I asked her if I was really with them, guys thats what I'm dealing with right
now. Luck played a major role in this and for that I am thankfull. If you looked at the
third pic I belive you can see how the pole went directly through the center of the car.
I just keep thinking if I had not turned the wheel what the outcome would have been
and yes by the way the car has ABS (WHICH ALLOWED ME TO TURN THE CAR AT THE
LAST MOMENT) .

ABS - AIRBAG - SEATBELT - LUCK SAVED MY LIFE.

PLEASE BE CAREFULL ALL, HOWEVER NEVER
STOP ENJOYING THE GREATEST CAR EVER
MADE. :2tu:

Don't forget SKILL. That was as much of a factor. Anyone less of a driver would not have been able to do what you did. So yes... feel lucky, but feel proud too. You done good!

There are plenty of nice GenII's out there at bargain pricing right now... The car is very easy to replace. Glad you hear your ok....

That Viper did a great job absorbing quite a bit of energy. All in all, a very good outcome.

What were weather conditions on the day of the accident? Dry and cold? Raining? Sorry if already posted..

Don't ignore the post accident feelings. They are normal. Talk about them with your wife. After a while they will subside. The better the driver, the stronger the feelings. It's harder for the more competent driver to accept the fact that a sudden loss of control could have, but for some luck, resulted in death. It is a feeling of powerlessness that is hard to accept. The bottom line is that anyone who drives a Viper in a spirited manner in a venue other than a track environment is assuming the risk of what happened to you. No one. And I mean no one has a skill set that excludes him or her from this possibility. The street surface is not kept clean. Other cars can move in unexpected ways. Mechanical failures happen. On the track, you wear a helmet and there are rules. If someone breaks the rules they are black flagged. An EMT team is present at the track in case of an injury. On the street, you don't wear a helmet and an EMT team may or may not be readily available depending on location and traffic.

I cant say enough of how I feel with all of your concerns, thanks, you all were there when
I needed you most. :2tu: I went to the ER today to get completely checked over. I
woke up this morning and could hardly put my socks on from the pain in my back. They
did the exrays and nothing major at this point. :2tu: They did say its pretty normal
what they saw after a accident like I had.

Glad you ar OK which is all that matters. I am impressed with how the car reacted. The systems worked as designed.

The car did great, head on and no broken glass. :2tu:
Interior stayed intact with ZERO damage, thats why
I posted a pic of the inside.

I am so glad to hear that you are ok and could walk away from that crash! Looking at those pictures makes me cringe and reminds me to be careful as a new owner. I wish you the best of luck in the future if/when you decide to get another snake!
