Here are some pics of my personal car Twin Turbo build, hopefully the mods can leave this here so all the member can see. I would appreciate it if this thread can stay here so that even those people not looking to buy such a system can give me some feedback on aesthetics and such. Thanks in advance to the mods for leaving this thread in a well traveled forum!

Here is it, we are trying to make this system a killer performing and beautiful to look at system, kind of like the $100K Lambo system builds and such.

It looks interesting for sure. Help me out...what is going on back there? It looks to me like the exhaust is being routed to the square tanks on each side...what's happening in the tanks? What are the blowers and filters doing?

The filters are on the intake side of the turbos. I am guessing the boxes are intercoolers on the intake side. Its not clear in the picture ( to me) where the exhaust is being routed. It looks like the exhaust is point directly at the exit pipe of the intercooler.

Hey Ken,

Thanks for the questions.

I have some other pics of the pieces that lead up to this part.

Basically, the exhaust is coming down the sides of the car like it does on your RT10, but then instead of going out the sides it routes to the back and through some quick spooling diverter pipes that accelerate the Turbo spin up (that is the sort of purplish items beside the turbos) (this allows us to use bigger turbos that build boost fast like little ones but then don't run out of steam at the top end), then the air routed through the hot side of the turbo and spins the blades of the turbo. the exhaust then routes either under the car or to the side outlets. The cold air comes in through the Big air filters and then gets compressed, it then travels through the black lower pipes into the air to water intercoolers (1000 hp capable each) and then the air travels through teh shiny pipes towards the diff. from there it travels up through the trans tunnel up to the throttle body.

Diverter pic

I'll be honest part of me wishes I still had my 06 coupe instead of my current 08. If I did Id be on the waiting list for this set up but at $20k for upgrading the 08 computer system to handle the twins I'll never have turbos on my 08:(

That is unless Steve would like to use mine as a test mule for the Gen 4's and just charge me the 03-06 kit price:D

wow :omg:

that's some thinking out of the box

tell you are not going to cover all that fine work up with a stock bumper

edit: ok, looked more closely, enough will be peeking out the bottom of the bumper to make it interesting, yes? :eater:

I am making everything so that either no to minimal surgery is required and I am working on a rear aero piece that will be able to be used on ALL SRT models to increase downforce like a rear aero piece should, the stock piece is at 15 degrees approx, and an effective piece needs to be at 7 degrees. Since I have rear bumper molds for my coupe rear end conversion, I will be able to make a custom bumper that may give the guy you just blew the doors off of a good view of what just stomped his manhood into the pavement, LOL

Wow, that really takes me back, remember the rear mounted turbos in the stang community, like the STS kits.

Here's an oldie but a goodie: http://i.b5z.net/i/u/1473169/i/Magazines/50sts.pdf

Pretty neat, but, um, how do you have time for this when I'm waiting on my order from you? lolol

Once again some of the coolest stuff is 3,000 miles away from me, ugh.

Let me preface this by saying, " I DON'T KNOW JACK S#*T ABOUT TURBOS" but it seems like an aweful lot of extra plumbing, work, weight, and distance. Why not just put 'em under the hood?

Someone please explain.:dunno:

I know back in the day the mustang guys did it to keep the turbo heat out of the engine & to have room for them, where the engine bay was tight & getting turbos of size in there was tough.

SICK!!!!!!!!! Anxiously awaiting pricing and numbers. Being that I'm a supercharger guy I'll ask an ignorant question, how is there no turbo lag with them being in the rear, like an STS system?

Wow, that is a cool custom build. From the pics, it looks like the full exhaust is being used to spool the turbos!! Surely there must be a down pipe somewhere. Is the exhaust routed to the sides with a down pipe going to the turbos? Where is the BOV? Are you keeping stock compression with the boost?
