Thanks to DANSAUTO we just picked up this, 2001 Red GTS for my wife, I get the old Yellow Gen I. The Gen I is sitting high in the front because the motor is out, to get new botom end /JE Pistons, heads and Cam. Also, just had the Elite Motor Sports Front Fascia put on and stress cracks in hood fixed.

I didn't realize that with the motor out it made that much difference in ground clearance...interesting!

Yeah sorta looks like I am ready for some off roading, I am anxious to see the new fascia with the motor back in it.

Do the bottom vents in the new Fascia feed the brake rotors? I mean are the vents functional or do they serve a purpose other than great looks?

I'm on cloud nine right now because I just bought my first Viper. To think some people have 2 of these amazing cars in their garages blows my mind! Absolutely awesome!!! Congrats!

Looking good Ed.. just prepare yourself for all the "it must have been wrecked" comments that accompany any change from stock form.

ACCELLR8,
You already had one of the nicest looking Gen I's around - You are my January "calender car".
That facia makes it look even nicer!! Congrats. Looks like DANSAUTO did a great job fitting the facia also. From reading his posts, it seems that he knows how to get rid of the stress fractures for good. I have not had as good of luck with my warranty hood repairs (two repair/repaint, and a couple small fractures are back).
Congrats on the Gen II also!

I really don't know or never looked at it that closely, I know the holes are all the way through, but whether air is directed at the brakes I am not sure, will try and look tonight, cause now you got me curious.

Mark,
Thanks !

Same thing with the stress cracks, fixed about two years ago under warranty or after enough griping to Dodge, but within 8 months they were back the same. DAN did a great job and he did my side sills for me as well. Does a pretty good job on them too. Hopefully time will tell and they do not come back.
I think the only true fix is to get Dodge to get you a new hood, but have heard horror stories of the hoods looking worse because of fitment issues.
