Finally got some pics of my NX install. Not the best of quality and the lighting is bad.
Over all love the NX kit and was pretty simple to install. Now when ever I am not spraying the car seems very slow.

Need to get the Roe Super Charger once Gen I kits are available.

By your post I assume you did the install yourself. Was it pretty straight forward?

BTW, nice car!

LOL...I say the same thing about my car, however...yours is still no slouch n/a. Nice 15lb bottle you have there...Got the bottle blanket I see. Do you also have the bottle warmer?

Since Ed did not answer yet, I'll take the liberty and answer for him. Yes ,he did it himself and coached me thur mine as well. He does have the bottle warmer too, I think he told me he has the 150 hp jets in now, but he has run 100, 150 and 200hp jets too. I did not have room for the big bottle (amp and spare tire) so I went with the 10 lb bottle and have 150 hp jets in. (but I havn't even filled my bottle yet)

BTY Ed..it looks nice! real clean I like how you hid all the wires. I wrapped mine in loom, but does not look as clean as yours.

Hope you guys are going to be at Chuck's BBQ. I want to see these installs. Please, if you remember, bring some info with you where I can make the purchases.

Thanks,
Andrew

yes we should both be there. I bought my Kit new from Lee Dove (do a search he is on this board) Ed bought his from Big Carrot (used) Albert sell the NX kits as well. This is a real nice kit and it is almost like Chrysler made the Viper for this kit. Everything goes on real easy. About 4 hrs to do the job.

J SMITH- Like Dan Said the install was pretty straight forward and relatively easy!!

Gerald Levin- I know their is a hazard with the RT-10 when you remove the spare tire, because it is part of the structure of the rear in a rear end colision. Other than that I don't think there is anything else to be conserned about since Nitrous is non flamable.

RDUSTMAN- Right now I am running the 150 HP shot. That seems to be a good balance of not to much wheelspin and enough spray to get you moving along a little.

ANDREW2KRT10- Yes myself and Dan will be there, really looking forward to this event and seeing some of the Rowe Super Charger cars as well. I did buy my kit used from Big Carrot but bought some of the accessories from Albert Chlouber (713-857-9998). He also helped me by answering some of my install questions and what plugs to run etc.

DAN- What happened this weekend? I was hoping to come in and have an email from you about how you loved it!! I assume a hard working man like yourself got to busy to get it out and play. Well I will be talking to you. Don't be scared now!! We are going to have one fast caravan to TATORS BBQ, Can hardly wait. Even Lauri's car fealt kick A$$ with his new headers and lack of exhaust. WOW Did it ever pull like a train.

Thanks all for the compliments!

hmmmmm. I have an old NX wet kit off my "old" C5 I sold last year....wonder what extra parts I would need to retro to the viper.

I have the 10lb bottle,
pressure gauge
bottle heater
nitrous filter
remote bottle opener
1 shark nozzle w/ various jets
braided line for LS1
set of nitrous and fuel solenoids.
wide open throttle switch
arming switch
relays etc.
hmmm.

I have exactly the same NX setup left over from the C4 that I sold. And I also have plans to integrate it into the Viper with a 150HP jetting. Apparently we just need to get a T-line splitter, and another Shark nozzle and jets. Albert Chlouber is a member here and NX dealer. Optionally, you can get a MSD modified window switch for the Viper to trigger the N20 within a preset rev range, which can help somewhat if you have traction problems by triggering the N20 later.

Dean - Can our cast pistons handle the 150 shot? Also, do you know if the jets for N and F are the same to achieve 150 HP as they were on the LS1? With 2 TB's I would imagine they would be smaller.

LOL I thought that kit looked familiar! It went from yellow R/T to yellow R/T! Cool install!

Yeah man the kit has been working out great!! Definitely love the power it gives. I wish I was able to keep the solenoids on the metal bracket welded to the hard smooth tubes, but the alternator on the Gen I's is in the way. Either way, I kept the bracket and put it on the frame crossmember.

By the way, I see you got a Very Sweet New Red ACR. Congrats!!

Some people are running a 200+ shot on the new cast piston cars and they are fine. Considering the large 8L displacement of the Viper's V10, a 150 shot is relatively not that much. I ran a 100 wet shot on my Corvette.

What I'm more concerned about is the fuel supply and NOT running lean. Most of the wet N2O Viper applications are doing a 200 shot, but they usually have the separate propane fuel source installed. I had read that a 150 shot was fine using the gas off of the fuel rail tap.

The difference of course with the Viper is that we need a second Shark nozzle and another set of matching jets.
And then we install each nozzle in the tubes leading into the throttle bodys, with each one jetted for 75HP, resulting in a 150hp total shot.

I've been researching this for a while and looking for a better solution for the window switch (the V8 one won't work) before I install the N2O, and I'll definitely get the car dynoed when I do the install to confirm that it's not running lean.

Dean-a couple of thoughts.

The roe sc puts out 600 hp and is tuned to run a little rich with the stock fuel pump, so i would think a wet kit with a 150 shot would be no problem, nor would a 200 shot. If not. you could try the Kenne bell boost a pump.

Many people are running the 200 shot WITHOUT the propane. So propane is not neccessary.

If you want a window switch, you need to get the msd one and then send it to MSD and they will modify it for the 10 cyl. But remember it is more of a safety feature than a traction/power controller. The kits are set for wide open throttle, but without the window switch it is possible to set off the nitrous at a low rpm with a good possiblity of a backfire. If you have traction issues get a progresive timer. I ran the 200 shot with kuhmos and had no traction issues. Matter of fact i've converted 3 viper owners to kuhmos because of the outstanding traction at launch

Thanks for the info Varanus!

Are you and some of the other local Viper guys plannng on a trip up to Sacramento sometime soon? (after it stops raining of course). I want to try out my car at the track, and it's a long drive up there going solo.

Have you heard about the NXL (NX) nozzles that do direct port nitrous? I'm pretty sure that they don't have a kit for the Viper, but it's a cool idea nevertheless.

Have you run the nitrous with your supercharger yet?

Hi Dean. Actually I will be going up to Sacto for Gridge night onJune 14th as it will be my car club (chevy ) vs the ford guys. I know I have a Dodge-don't ask. Anyways we can probably round up a few vipers. I can't run anymore as my car was running 11's NA with et streets and with the sc would probably be in the 10's. They were already yelling at me for running 11's without the roll bar, 5 points etc. All I can do is run the 1/8th then hit the brakes which isn't much fun. If you run NA they won't bother you.

I think Axe will run since he got beat by a nitroused f body on drag tires and will be will be looking for revenge now that he has the roe blower too.

I haven't run the nitrous yet till i dyno and see where my a/f is. Since Sean says he tuned the vec 2 to run a little on the fat side, I am hoping it will be fine for a 50 or 75 shot dry. If not I will run a wet system. That will determine where I mount the nozzles though. If dry probably on the intake tubes before the throttle bodies. If wet i will mount right before the blower.

I have heard about the Nos nozzles but heard one guy tell me a lot of people weren't happy with them.

The NX kit ran pretty well just at the tubes as others will attest so I figure why spend to but all those extra nozzles. Although it would look cool.

Let me know if you want to go in June. We might have a BBQ at the track and you will probably get a lot of challenges, esp from the mustang guys.

That sounds like fun. Unless something crops up with work I should be able to make it no problem. Most likely I'll be running N/A, so the supercharged Mustang guys may be a real challenge.

I haven't taken the Viper to the track yet, and I'm looking forward to becoming familiar with the car running the 1/4 mile.
