That is a custom intake that was made for Paul Mumford's ACR about 5 years ago by a welder out in Cali named Bondio. DC Performance is the distributer for those intakes now. They are very pricey at about $1200 but the workmanship is superior. The aluminum piece you see to the left of the pic is actually a custom overflow bottle that was built due to the custom brake ducting that was installed on the car. There are CF surrounds that were built around the fog light openings to capture air and is re-routed to the calipers. The hoses would not fit properly unless the overflow tank was removed.

Who built the motor on that car. I have the same intake and breather hoses. I would like to know who built mine. What is done to your engine?

The original engine builder when Paul owned the car was Caldwell Development in Vista, Ca. There have been wild claims of 850 HP for that motor, but when Paul owned the car is was putting down about 550 RWHP. I don't know what the configuration it is now as the car has changed hands several times since Paul. They (Caldwell) were the builders of the motors for the Dodge backed Oreca GTSR's. The company is no longer in business however one of the mechanics has his own shop and has built many racing Vipers on the West Coast. His name is Kevin Singleton and his shop is Exotic Engine Development in Murrieta, CA. Good luck.

Thanks Redsled, that is a beautiful piece of workmanship, for sure. It sounds a bit pricey for the average joe like me...not having Paul's sponsors (I assume that he had sponsors since he seemed to have incomperable upgrades on his car). I have this pic bc I was looking at buying the car a couple years ago and the guy selling it wanted to trade for a stock Viper bc he couldn't handle it and it scared him. Must be one heck of a motor. ;)

Mine is a RT that goes pretty good. I can see it has had alot of engine work but I don't know all. The intake is a work of art.

Hey, I don't think you are getting 700+ RWHP and RWT on a stock motor. Maybe I am wrong. I think you have major upgrades, like DC Perf stage 7 motor. Have you ever pulled the valve covers and looked inside at the heads? (It might be fun to do so.) ;)

Yes, that ACR was awesome. The motor was built to road race. Paul was always several seconds faster in that car on street tires then the fastest VRL drivers were in their race cars and slicks. The car was named "Big Boy" Several of us who knew Paul tried to buy the car so as to keep it in Cali as it has such a great reputation and we wanted it to continue to tear up the local tracks but the deal could never get done. If the current owner was willing to sell I would buy that car ina heartbeat. It is a special car with a great history. Let me know if you know who the current owner is.
Thanks-Jonathan

Yes I have. I can see it has T&D 1.7 rockers, ported intake, head studs, and larger cam. It doen't have 700RWHP but that is my GTS with a few upgrades of its own. The RT runs great but I just don't know the full history of the build.

I am sure it has changed hands since I was looking at it. As I said, it was for sale then (Dec 05). There was a spare race motor in the deal and that is what pushed the price up when I was looking at it. Of course, the VRL race guys only have stock motors, so I am nor surprised he would whip them with a full bore race engine. I hear he could really handle that car. I would have loved to test it, but the guy selling it wasn't allowing test drives, only street rides. That also caused me to shy away. I haven't seen or heard of it being on the track in the midwest. It is prob still in Cali, parked in someone's garage as a 'trophy.' Sry I can't help.
