The vettes all beat Joseph. At least from what I heard.
Conditions sucked. I think JD ran a 12.5.

However, that Optic Z06 guy has one quick car.
I raced him from a roll. We were pretty much even.

I did not attend the event. I just drove up with the guys to play on the way. To date, Optic has the fastest car I have raced in Atlanta. I think when it gets hot, and I have my top off, he MAY be able to pull on me.

Further clarification -

The fact that Joseph ran a 12.5 is not indicative of the cars capability. There were other factors involved.

Also, Optic may be able to hang with me from a roll. But, he is on the ragged edge. He is pushing his Z to the limit. During our run, I heard he fried 3 plugs. Multiple runs between us, could possibly lead to some type of breakdown on his part.

There is a great deal of skill to drag racing which is hard to understand if you have not raced regularly. I have drag raced motorcycles most of my life. My buddy who is an accomplished drag racer hops on my current bike and goes 10.51 at 135 vs my best time posted below. If JD does not drag race that car with any frequency, getting into the low 11's or high 10's even with 700 rwhp would be a surprise. This would be very hard for anybody. Here is what happens. The need for speed starts with better traction, then half-shafts break, and on and on. My only point is, drag racing is much more then horse power.
