Has anyone 'ported' a stock SRT throttlebody (vs. buying and after-market TB)? Seems like everyone did this to Vettes, but not much talk about this on the Viper

I ported mine on my 97 GTS. It had a lot of restriction in it. If you take your intake tube off, hold your throttle wide open, and run your finger down the bore of your throttle body you will feel the restrictions. Don't do this with the engine running ! Sorry but I had to put that in there. Seemed to make it more responsive. As far as performance I'm sure it helped, but nothing you could seat of your pants feel. If changing your intake tubes from rippled to straight makes 10 HP as reported then smoothing out the throttle body has got to do as much! Every little bit helps. Doing a few minor performance modifications can add up!

I think its the "whole" package that makes the improvement.
Free flow Air Cleaners or FIPK, smooth tube intake tube, and cleaning up the throttle body...
