For any interested parties:

I have been long interested in acquiring an ORECA GTS-R front fascia for my car. After contacting ORECA, I soon found the price to be much too high. Total would run close to $25K for all parts with shipping from France. This fascia needs a wider hood as well since the ORECA cars are a bit wider than the stock GTS.

I have spoken to Scott of Vipersbyelite (ViperMD) and am planning to have him construct an exact replica (or as close as it can get) of the Oreca GTS-R front fascias as a replacement for our stock fascias. These fascias will be made out of a flexible resin fiberglass (same material he currently uses for his custom fascia replacement). So they will have some give. Of course, these won't be exact replicas as they will be as wide as our stock fascias, but should look near identical. So close, hopefully, no one could tell the difference.

Items to note:

I will be giving input as the fascia progresses through its development on any changes or alterations needed to be made to keep it as close to the original as I see it. However, Scott will retain the reproduction rights to the mold to keep costs down.

This fascia will not incorporate the driving lights to keep costs lower.

Depending on interest, the cost can be as low as 3K, without splitter.

I am hoping for some interest on this. I realize the autoform fascia is close to this, but Scott's fascia should have less fitment issues and look closer to the original.

Post or email me if you are interested.

Thanks.

Autoform already makes that front end and it costs 3k with the front splitter.

It's similar but not exact.

Isn't that the same thing you would be doing? making something similar and not exact? ie: leaving out the driving lights and shortening?

I remember seeing this picture on the Oreca website years ago. It is what I believe to be the only road going example of Team Oreca's Viper GTS-R, built as a one off to show the public at race days that their parts were compatable for road use. Its a shame that there wern't any better pics of the car. IMO its one of the best looking Vipers I've ever seen. The front and side splitters compliment the whole car amazingly well. If the front Elite make is anything like the Oreca original, I'm sure it would be an impressive looking piece.

Rowan.

Rowan,
That picture is still on the ORECA site. It is kind of small on their site and I just assumed it was a variation of one of the acutal race cars.

Is Scott going to put the lights in the center as well. If so I would be ready to pony up for one

The Autoform fascia has much smaller brake ducts, otherwise very close.

Please keep me informed. I may be interested in one without the driving lights.

TNT, Archer, Autoform all sell the center louvers seperately. It is very expensive to have them installed properly in a stock hood.

Autoform and McCann both sell replacement hoods (carbon fiber) with the louvers in them.

Regards,

As much as I'd like to have the driving lights (enclosed behind yellow colored plexiglass), I think the cost would be a bit higher. I could ask and see what he says.

I agree the fitment looks great. I just heard that it was a bit harder to work with being fiberglass.

Jeff

We are trying to gather interest if i can get at least three people to commit to the driving light we can probably make a go of it.We are no longer using fiberglass molds as they age and change with multiple use.We will need to make to separate molds for these.i am waiting to here back from Oreca as to copyright infringment.chances are there will be no problem as the are a different application.I should have an answer by the end of the week.

Here is a close-up of Autoforms facia that is being refered to in this post.

The fitment looks pretty good to me.
C~

I have the original fascia Autoform ever made with the driving lights that does not have the splitter like the red one pictured.

Damn, the Autoform one looke awesome. The hole in the center in front of the radiator is 8" wider than the stock one. This allows more air to get to the radiator.

The Autoform one is made of fiberglass and will crack if hit hard enough where one made out of the stock fascia material would not be as apt to crack if you bottom out when the car is lowered.

There is a one of our members in Arkansas, Jason Till, felt like you. He contacted Oreca as well.... I am pretty sure he has made molds to make an exact (as possible) copy of the Oreca facia (with lights and lexan covers) out of carbon fiber. He was handing out info at the Dallas Zone Rendezvous.... any one that was there have the info??
