Just went and check prices on new tires and found Michelin has discontinued the PS2 front tire for gen 2 Vipers. Only thing they have available is the 0 pressure and they are back ordered and not scheduled to go in to production for the next 30 days.
Looks like I may have to put the BF Goodrich G force.

NOT TRUE............ This tire PS2 P275/35ZR18 fits 99-2010 Fronts, same size. Readily available. Did U Check with a club sponsoring vendor like TireRack, or ??

G-Force is a weak-sister vs. the AVAILABLE PS2........and the PSS [ Pilot Super Sport] is in, but DONT mismatch PS2 and PSS

Pun Intended: Mr Wolf just cried "wolf" !!

Wouldn't 295's or even 315's be fine for a normal front?

295-30-18 would be an excellent choice, more aggresive handling, braking, and stance. But they cost about $80 more each. The G4 ACRs have 295 as OE.

315 is a bit too wide on a 10" wide wheel....the beads get pinched too close and crowns the tread at center

I continue to use the invos and love emm. About ten mintues ago i ordered two new ones for the front $378.00 shipped. You cant beat the price for the performance. Ive had ps2s before and i cant justify buying them when they are there more exspensive and i didnt really notice a difference between the two. Just my .02

All I know is our largest tire dealer lost a $2000 sale because when the called Michelin to order the tires, they were told the tires were not available and were discontinued.

I can't imagine they would discontinue that size because it's very common on a lot of cars. Looks like somebody got some bad info.
Like mentioned above, I run 295 on the front, so it doesn't make any difference to me anyway. :)

They still make the zero pressure (run flats) $93 more each

aloushi,

Do you still have those?

I still have them, one member pm'd me and I just replied back. They are currently mounted on the stock 2002 RT/10 rims. I would like $800 for the tires and if interested in rims for another $800. Just to be clear the tires were mounted on a Thursday and 2 days later (saturday) I mounted a set of SRT-10 wheels that I ran across and purchased for a Great price.

One of my distributors is showing 99 available :dunno:
Want me to shoot you a price?

I was Raben Tire
RABEN TIRE & AUTO SERVICE : Home

They called to order the tires from Michelin as Raben didn't stock the size for the Viper and were told P275/35zr18's were discontinued and the suggested replacement was the o pressure and they were back ordered without a production date scheduled.

So, if you contact site sponsors / vendors, {those who support this site, your region and your club} you will get the correct info and competitive prices....But most importantly; safe, correct tires....

If all of the price difference was in mounting and balancing, run away!!!
I just changed wheels and bought new tires. It cost me ~$150 to unmount the old tires from the old wheels, switch the TPS sensors to the new wheels and mount and balance the new tires on the new wheels.

That was mounted, lifetime balance, lifetime road hazard, Indiana Tire disposal fee, and all sales and other taxes due in Indiana.

They have and additional mounting charge for low profile tires.

Price them on Tirerack, add shipping, 3 year road hazard,(not lifetime) mounting and balancing and taxes it was close.
Plus there is not a local mounter for TireRack the closest would be over 60 miles away. It's not like I could load the tires in Viper and take them in to be changed.

It's only money and not worth the hassle.
The way I dive the Viper the BFG's will be fine and a $1000 less.

The BFGs are great tires, regardless of what anyone here posts. I've had mine on for almost a year and wouldn't consider the overpriced Mich's unless I got them for the same price.

Calling them a "weaker sister" is irresponsible Jon.

I guess I did save some and have a little easier time by having a big car. I loaded up all 4 old rims (with tires on them, the 4 new rims, and the 4 new tires and went to the Dodge dealer to have all the work done. If I hadn't had anyting to fit it all in, it would have been a major PITA.
I wasn't upset with the cost at all, but the new svc manager did piss me off a little. It took them about an hour or so to do all the work, but he said he had to charge the $150 because of the "risk they took on damaging such expensive wheels". Hello, they are Dodge parts and you're a Dodge dealer.
