I've already removed everything to access the pump, broke the seal, took off the pully, but how does it come out? over the cross brace or under? do i have to remove the cross brace?

Its been a while; but I think that I jacked up the car to relieve the pressure, unbolted the cross brace and moved it slightly forward as far as it would go. I don't know if that was necessary; but, the water pump came out from the top if you got it into the exact right orientation.

You can get it out without removing the crossbrace, but it is much easier to do it with the brace out. Might want to change your thermostat at the same time.

Are you replacing it with a Mopar pump or are you doing the aftermarket route? Pulling the crossbrace out makes it much easier.

If you jack the front wheels off the ground it should come off.

When I do my new blower, that cross brace is coming out permanently and I'm making a new one with adjustable heim joints. I hate that cross brace.
