I do follow this stuff a little bit, but find some of the procedures and methods that end up getting described maybe sometimes just short of bizarre in their complexity.
I like my car to look nice. Wash it, wax it occasionally, pull the wheels and detail the suspension etc every now and then. Not trying to discourage from those that do want the ultimate, but if the instructions for a product are more than 2 to 3 sentences long, then I won't buy your products.
Moral of story: Simple products, simple instructions, for the simple posers.

I just don't think most Viper owners spend time waxing. I love detailing but, with the other guys/ girls here..... not so much. In fact, most Vipers I see are swirled messes.
I have tried to promote detailing with Meguiar's to the Socal area with some fun events....but it seems owners and getting less interested as time goes by.
Most can afford to have someone do it for them... and would rather be at track events.
If the car no longer continues, then you will probably see an upswing in keeping what they have in perfect condition.
Time will tell....

I'd rather drive it and get it dirty at the track rather than be a slave to my Viper by turning it into a garage queen and spending more time detailing it than driving it. If I wanted a show car Viper, I'd buy a second one and store it. I'm with Dave...simple, simple products and simple procedures. Car wash and spray on wax for me and I'm happy.

This was after I already cleaned it after every session except the last one. I've used a competing product called Bug Off but it's more like "Bug On". Thank you for the replies, I understand all of your points but at times it's necessary to explain in detail a procedure/product to obtain the best possible results.
Tony, In your case our oxidation and bug remover will remove them, and if you wash and apply some spray wax it will help. The problem is at the speed that the car/bug make contact, if you decide to leave them for a very long period exposed to the sun they will "bake" and start to sink into the paint, making it even more difficult to remove. Sorry for the long answer.

WOW, you guys are serious about driving this thing,
maybe if I had one I too would do the same,lol,we no longer produce a detailer, our spray wax does a great job so we don't see the point of having two similar products, shoot me a PM, we may have a few gallons of the spray wax if you are interested.

Bugs.....Wet a Bounce dryer sheet, it disovles the bugs parts. No paint damage to worry about. Anyone who has ever lived in Florida love bug season knows this trick!
Newport, yes I recall this tip but I don't understand how it doesn't create swirl marks. The dryer sheets are not plush at all, like some of the plush microfiber towels. When hardened bug guts get caught up in the fibers of the dryer sheet won't that lead to swirls? Anyway, for cleaning I will try it. But I was looking for something like an impenetrable coating. Ah well...its not a big deal, it just seems like even with fresh coatings of wax these bugs have become stickier.

It's the chemical in the sheet that does the work. Use a light hand and wipe off the guts with micro fiber

How does your Swirl remover compare? Can it also be used by hand (as opposed to a random orbiter which can lead to all kinds of misuse issues)? If I can, I would like to begin using your products.

That's what I use, Tony. The fragrance-free/non-dye Bounce sheets...VERY VERY WET!!!!! THEN use a detail spray to wipe away the residue afterwards...works wonders! (ESpecially on the bugs!)

I can't speak for anyone other than myself Tito, but it does seem like folks take their tuners and detailing products quite to heart. I can see it with tuners...but not so much with inanimate objects. I tend to use Griots products, but that's mainly because (as other have mentioned) they are easy to use. I'd change in a second, especially 1) if it's a good product, 2) the product has a rep that's a site sponsor and 3) the rep make himself/herself readily available for questions and suggestions. I'm just not a "detailing kind of owner". I drive a LOT and the car gets dirty...a LOT.
Sorry that you feel "rejected" as I for one, am happy you're hear to answer questions. It's great to have such an attentive sponsor!

My position is not so much that the car gets really really dirty constantly, but that doing just average paint maintenance at a fraction of the time involved with extreme maintenance, still results in a decent looking car.
So watcha got in a soap Tito? Use a bit of that, as I wash every week or so (yes I've determined the Viper does NOT get ruined by water). And like City, have been using Griot's products.

Tito...I've found that detailing is a religion for many folks. Trying to ween them off of their specific detailing products is like trying to ween men away from their favorite boxers. It's just not going to be easy.
I, for one, will take you up on your offer for your bug removal product. I feel I've tried everything out there and have nothing to lose. Who knows, it just might be the ticket. I'm always open to new products especially from folks like yourself that make themselves available to answer questions. I had PM'd Tito, and we had a nice chat. I told him that we Viper people are pretty particular about what we use on our cars. He laughed and said YEP, he noted that! He asked a good question: HOW was I going to compare the detail/wax detail sprays? I said we'd use HIS product on another vehicle, see how it worked. Certainly we're open to new products, and to use a site sponsor is a HUGE PLUS in my book too. We await the results!! I told him I'd certainly post up a glowing review if indeed that is the case. We don't claim to have the BEST product out there, that doesn't exist period, take for example some of those products that some people "claim" to be the BEST, after you have learn the complicated steps, take away the "aid" of another product to make that product good, now what do you have? But that’s another story.
