I have a question about my 99RT/10 Evap system. While in storage for the winter I started my car to move it around in the garage and had a check engine light come on. I purchased a OBD2 reader and the fault came up as a PO 442 (small leak in the Evap System) with a little investigation I found out that can also mean a loose Gas Cap. I tightened the cap and reset the fault. Since then I have changed Fuel caps with a fellow owner and the fault continues to come on along with now a PO 455 (large leak). Just wondering if any other owners have had a similar problem and if there is a common leak area on these cars. Any help will be appreciated.

Check for mouse damage. Not as easy on the viper because its low so getting under and feeling around is not as easy.

Yeah, sorry I cant say on the Viper for sure but have seen a few lately. Recently on the Ram SRT. Located the canister and started feeling around and sure enough the little bastids gnawed right through a section but only on the top of the tube so it was a bit hard to spot without smoke. If its a large leak the smoke will find it quickly that's for sure.

Leaking purge or re-circ. solenoid valve (if gas cap is good). Loose evap hose connection/s.
