Question: Help Please

I am taking my car to a place in Decatur, IL that is a Corsa dealer to have my system checked for problems. I have both side sills off. It seems to me that they should be put back on for the drive (1 1/2 hours) because of heat. I don't want to melt my car! On the other hand, it would be easier to leave them off.

Um. The car will actually be cooler without the sills. The sills hold heat in.

I drove mine a little without the sills on and the paint at the bottom of the doors got really hot....like can't touch it kind of hot. No damage, though.

If you will be spending a lot of time in traffic then yes the bottom of the doors could get hot. Is your 1-1/2 hour drive through the city, highway or ???

no problem driving without them. just be cooler

Both city and highway... I think I will get off my **** and put them back on. Thanks for your input guys.

No problem driving with them off. Team Viper did that many times in the early days when going drag racing and such.

Heck, I just went ahead and put them back on. Looks a bit better...
