Chuck Tator told me 03 and up will not work.

Well.. it will work, but the shift numbers will be facing the wrong way (Up side down).

I tried to put my Old 04 Shifter in my 97 GTS and was upside down when tightened. Some aftermarket 03+ shifters knobs would work if they have a screw/bolt to tighten the shifter knob in any position.

There should be a jamb nut on the shaft so that the knob can be properly oriented.

Of course there's a jam nut...otherwise the actual shift knob would never be aligned or tight.

Not so, on my Miata, the shaft and knob are designed in such a way to always be tight and facing the right direction without the use of a jam nut. But yes, on my viper you need to use the nut.

So what's the answer, I see no reason as to why it wouldn't work. Viper98912 did it, right? Looks just like my later model Gen II shifter. Maybe the thread depth is slightly different and needs shimming or something. Anyone....
