So I really like the look with the sun visors removed, but it might be nice to be able to quickly snap them in place for those times when driving west. Anybody have any ideas or thoughts? I was thinking something along the lines of these ball stud fasteners.

agreed.... when I did have them if I put them down I couldn't see the road.

EXACTLY my experience!

I was hoping for a usable replacement that also swings to the side to block the side sun.

Any ideas?

I actually use mine to deflect cool air into the cabin from 5mph to 60 or so. Try it - it really works. Put them up in a perpendicular position to the ground which will create a downflow of air into the cockpit. Works great around the city or in traffic.

John I am interested if you can get it to work and stay tight.

We have ours removed as well, but IF there were a way to clasp them back on in a hurry, that'd be great too...juli
