Race Ramps

Anyone have any experience with these? It's time to ditch the 2 x 4 boards when loading/unloading the trailer. Can't decide on which model will work best with my set up. Thinking the RR-TR-5 will work the best. http://www.raceramps.com/trailer-ramps-5.aspx The front of the car with the splitter can be challenging to load at times.

Jonathan, I just sent you an email, sorry I've been traveling. the ones I have are the RR-TR-5 I did a quick look on the internet and ebay, you can get them for something like $292.00 shipped.

I think they'll work best for you. When looking at their other ones compare the lip drop, mine is only 2", the others are larger so that big splitter you have may rub the trailer door. Good luck, feel free to send a note or call, use my gmail address. Mike

that is true but consider cost relative to the viper and trailer. I have used 2x12 and broke one once and am considering the ready made ramps if I begin trailering again. A small investment considering car value or repairs if you damage something. I would be interested to hear commentary about the plastic vs. metal. I also wondered about the drop height. Need to get my slide rule out and do some engineering calculations. Sorry op I can't answer your experience question but interested to read what others say.

If you've lowered your car, the ramps may not work even with the separate extended ramp attachments. That's my recent experience. Otherwise, these are great lightweight ramps (as they should be for what they cost).

Grisoman, he tried mine at the track a week ago and they worked fine with that giant splitter. You should have seen the collection of boards he was using to clear the splitter, had to take 5-10 minutes just to set them all up.

Race Ramps are excellent. They are easy to carry (lightweight) and last forever. I've had a set nearly 10 years now. I don't see anything getting under that splitter, however.

Race ramps work great for my Gen iv ACR lowered. The ones to get are the RRLL -87-2 From Reverse Logic. These are made to their spec. These were designed for Low clearence cars. These are better the the Standard Race ramps from Race Ramp. You can also get the trailer adapters that work great as well. Look up Reverse Logic. Call them for any questions. They have a simple methord for measuring the approach angle which will determine which ramps will work for you. I Love mine.

I posted a deal on some used sets that were used at SEMA....just search my threads started. I bought a set and love them, however they are pricy. Work great on my 2 SRT8 vehicles and my lowered GTS. I have the extensions for the GTS. Great for oil changes.

Ok, here's an update on the Race Ramps. I received them yesterday and used them today to load and unload the race car for prep work. They worked perfectly. I can now ditch the ghetto wood ramps that just didn't seem to do the Viper justice. I've attached a few pics.

REDSLED, Can we see some more pics of the whole car, looks great. What mods have been done to the car? Is that the stock hood with the Added Autoform central vent or is it the Autoform lightweight hood?

Here you go F-Boy. Car has an Exotic Engine Development Clubsport motor. Heads, cam, RRs, full race exhaust. Full Penske suspension, SRT-10 brakes.All panels are lightweight fiberglass. I do believe all the panels and hood came from Fat Albert Motorsports. Neil did the graphics package years ago.

I like your SCCA car, is ITE popular in Cali? Is that the only class you can run this in?
Also, do you happen to have pictures of your cage?

I know I'm asking for a lot, but it's hard to see these cars in SCCA in my region.

Schbiazabi-I'll see what I can find. ITE is popular in Cali as is SP. The car can also run the new SCCA T1 class as well. The car also runs ST1 in NASA. I think I have pics the previous owner sent before I purchased the car.

I picked up a set of the RR-TR-11-2 ramps. Was looking for one of the longest ramps with the least amount of angle which would enable me to transport even the lowest of cars. The gradual ramp allows lowered sport compact cars with bodykits/lips with no troubles at all.

They work well with the 18' H&H Aluminum Trailer. Just tilt it down on the Race Ramps and drive or winch it on. I added a great set of Mac's Tie downs to ensure the car I'm hauling doesn't go anywhere.
