Q. Can I bring friends or family for ride-alongs ?
A. Yes you can. Give them a chance to experience the ‘business side” of Road America? Passengers are allowed in the front passenger seat only. They must have an approved helmet and a working seatbelt.
Q. I know that if I’m a driver, I need a helmet- what about my passenger, do they need one too?
A. Any passenger will also need a helmet that meets our requirement.
Q. It’s Wisconsin, what if it rains or otherwise?
A. In the past we’ve successfully ran in the wet and cold. The weather is monitored closely and if adverse driving weather approaches, we take great care in deciding if the event continues or we have to stop driving for a bit.
Q. What if I get hungry, is there food available or do I bring my own?
A. There is a food stand open that serves breakfast in the morning and then warm food all day long. If you want to pack a cooler, that’s OK. Restrooms will also be open. No alcoholic beverages allowed on Road America's premises.
Q. If I bring my camera, will I find a good shot?
A. You bet! Actually, we encourage everyone to bring their cameras. There are plenty of places to get great shots from around the track and paddock.
Q. Do I have to drive back into town for gas?
A. There is a pay via-credit card pump in the paddock that has 100 octane unleaded race gas. For 93 octane, you would have to go into town approximately 2-3 miles.
Q. Where do our cars go between ‘sessions’?
A. The cars that are participating in the on-track activity and their support vehicles and trailers can park in the competition paddock.
Lastly, I sent another email, my second request for info regarding the insurance question and should hear from the organizers of this event rather soon. I included the link to this post in the email so that they too can see the exposure that this board will provide.
