Raced 03 cobra today

1st time Id seen one on the street. Couldnt really tell it was an 03 as Im no mustang lover...but tag read 03cobra so it was a no brainer. Anyways, took off from about 20 mph side by side and pulled him to about 130 where I let off. Probably had 5-6 car lengths. I let off and he flew by a second later. No sense killing myself. Alot of fun though.

Something is wrong when the Mustang 0 to 60 is almost 5 seconds and the Viper is at 4 seconds. You should have had more than 6 car lenghths at 130.

Is your car stock? What year is your Viper?

Have mostly stock 00 GTS. Smooth tubes and Borla cat back. No cats and rear O2 sensors. Dont know exactly how far he was behind me as I was paying attention to the road, but would estimate 6 cars. He got a slight jump on me to about 50 mph. I was about a car length back not expecting it. But walked him stedily. Was sweet.

That sounds about right:

'03 Cobra -- 3750 lbs, 375 RWHP
'00 Viper (light mods) -- 3450 lbs, 420 RWHP

Theoretically you have him by ~7 carlengths in the 1/4...
