Random Alarm...

I've used the search button and google'd it but only came across one definitive thread that said something about the hood switch being bad... My alarm keeps going off randomly without any notice. Is there a reason why? In one of the threads I read, someone said to simply disconnect the hood switch. Where is this switch?! Help!

GEN-3 or -4 may be the hood switch...under the hood!
Try a little tape (or multiple layers of tape) on top of the switch first to see whether it stops ...

Where is this switch?! Is it on the passenger side, center of the engine bay, where the x is?

Assuming you have a Gen 3 or 4 it is on the passenger side. I would guess this happens after you drive the car and it cools down?

You can also shim under the switch a little. I put a 1/8" felt sticky round pad on top of the switch plunger on mine.

The hood switch is adjustable. The core of the switch is movable.
