Note center air intake and the cooling vents adjacent to same on each side. Also note changed cross hair grille. This is one of the photos from the Inside Line piece. Another seems to show that the headlights are part LED and appear to be larger. It would also appear that the Gen IV frame will continue to be used based on the new front fitting. albeit a bit awkwardly, on this car. The new front does seem a bit wider as the Inside Line article notes.

That is going to extremely difficult to wax and polish. Also that surface can't possibly very aerodynamic. Does it come in any different colors, red might hide the patchwork appearance.

Not sold on the honeycomb grill .... but maybe that was added to temporarily distract :dunno: If nothing else, I hope the 2013 comes with a much nicer car cover :D

I can't wait to see the entire car. I hope I am wrong, but I'm not sure I'll be into the honey comb behind the cross hair.

Since the car is not finsihed yet... I would hope they would engineer something better than the side sills from the previous generations. I think there was a thread something like... what would you want in the new Viper... I will have to find it and post my issues with the side sills.

Alot more pics on Autoblog

http://www.autoblog.com/2011/08/14/next-gen-dodge-viper-test-mule-packs-a-new-front-end/

Anyone that saw the Gen V last year does it look like this front end?

I actually kinda disappointed with the headlights, they look like they got bigger and more "corvette-ish" but then again Im looking at it with alot of camouflage.

It looks like what I remember from SLC but the headlights appear to be the old GEN III/IV's just covered up by the camo. I remember the headlights being completely different.

The hood reminds me of the diamon back hood once available for the GenII's, aggressive. It like it.

Definitely a mule. My guess would be testing either front end aerodynamics on the air intake or new engine.

Looks like heat testing of the motor. Look at the hood you can see hood pins to allow engineers easier access

My wife saw that picture, laughed and said it looks just like a Corvette. Hate to say it, but she's not wrong...let's hope it looks better un-camoflauged.

Look closely at the length and size of the air vents on each side of the intake and the size and shape of the intake. Then look at the grille again. The shape is quite interesting. Also note the area where the fog lamps usually are. It is also interesting. The lights are not Gen IV lights. If you have a Gen III or IV go out and look at your front lights then take another look at these. These are different in shape and with respect to the internal components. This front end looks nothing like a Vette.

Any chance that we will see the final product at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show in January?

The front grill looks similar to the world challenge version of the comp coupe. I think it's probably just a fake front end............did I say I've always hated the way comp coupes look. They remind me of an ugly Japanese car, namely the Toyota Supra. I'll be quiet now, and wait for the final product.

It is a test mule wearing as many GEN IV parts as possible. The headlights and vents you'll like a lot, the spy shots don't do the GEN V justice.

Aaron
