Reason for Blank Dash Dial in '08?

It appears that the dash dial to the far left of our instrument cluster is blank on my 2008. Any reason for this? Is it a placeholder for a boost gauge?

I was wondering the same thing. I think some codes/messages show up there.

Where? The circle on the left? if so blank on purpose. I think there are some lights for error codes under there.

BTW, that gauge can be used for more than just air/fuel....it will do boost, temp and other things.

Nothing new. It was the same in the 2006...
