I just learned how to post pics so I thought I would post a pic of my intake manifold that I had powder coated bright red to match the paint on the car. It always bothered me that the engine color was more of a maroon tinted red.

I also had the valve covers, front engine cover, misc. engine parts and some suspension parts powder coated the same color to match.

It looks great and bet it will look awsome put back together!!! I definitely agree with you that it looks much better than the stock darker red.
The guy I bought my car from had it painted yellow to match and I like it. If he did not do it, I probably would have.
Post pictures once it is put back together. Here is pic of mine sorry it is so big, not sure how to shrink it down.

Carl,

My engine was already out of the car so it was not much work taking all the parts off.

Total cost for powder coating was $350 and this included all the masking required for the intake and front engine cover and the hand cutting of the Viper wording and snake on the valve covers.

It looks even better in person.

Chuck,

I would love to do headers also - but the powder coating process bakes on at about 400 degrees F and thus would not work with the heat from the headers.

I am looking into either painting mine with VHT 1500 degree paint or having them Jet-Hot coated.

That's awesome!! Does anyone know of a tech that can do that kind of work in the Tampa area? I need to stay off this site, because the more I see, the more I buy. I guess I don't have to buy my family any Xmas gifts this year.

Ed,
As a fellow yellow viper owner, I really like the unique look of your yellow engine. I had wondered how one would look and I have to say it looks much better then I would have guessed. Better then the stock red in my opinion.

You also seem to have a pretty nice set of cosmetic changes including the braided tubing and anodized hex bolts on your valve covers. Did you or the original owner do those and if it was you, were any of these available premade, or did you have to make the hoses yourself. Also, where did you locate the trick fastener hardware?

Thanks,
--- Ken
