...and ground your tools...I personally try to have a nearly full tank so as to minimize the vapors.

Be careful when pulling the rubber seal through the center of the cap when removing not to scratch the paint. Mine gave me a little bit of a fit trying to get the rubber seal through the back of the cap to remove it. All in all it's pretty easy.

Vinny,

I agree with Ron. Put the rubber on the car first. I have a long piece of metal that has a "J" bent into one end. I put this down into the filler neck and pull up on it to get the neck seated into the rubber. If you look into the filler neck you will see a small hole that the hook will fit into. I find this much easier than just trying to pull the neck up by hand. I got this little "tool" from MGW when I bought one of their caps but I have used it many times since then. Good luck.

Pics.....I am going to be sending my cap out for chroming
very soon. Is the tool similar to a piece of hanger with
a hook on the end???

Mighty GTS,

I don't know how to post pics of the tool if that is what you were asking for. It is made of approximately 3/16 octagonal bar stock. It is 14 inches long with one end bent in an "L" shape (to help with leverage) and the other end has a small hook bent into it. I'm sure that any hardware store has some cheap bar stock that can be bent in such a fashion. It makes the job much easier, but I'm sure it can be done without it.

PS.. Ron I sent out a gas cap and wheel center cap to you today
