Removing interior windshield trim

Already searched but nothing came up. I need to remove the interior a pillar trim to repaint it.
Looking for instructions so it does not get damaged. 96 gts.

I don't know if there is a difference in your 96 vs my 2000 but in mine, you can't remove it. The pillars are connected the dash.

It can't be removed. It is part of the windshield frame to my knowledge.

Pull the plastic dash off, remove you windshield and get after it. Why you want to paint it?

It has several good size scratches from the previous owner. I am going to have the dash painted
and wanted it to match if possible.

gotta paint it in the car or remove the entire windshield frame, (we also means removing the roof)

And removing the roof is not fun, I can vouch for that.

I painted mine from the inside, for the same reason (I had the dash painted). - just mask carefully.
