Anyone replaced or considering replacing the seats in their SRT-10? Some of you "larger" people, any input would be appreciated. 2-inch seat lowering kit installed, helmet up against bar in convertible top. :headbang:

The seats are snug but they do provide good support. Not having a power driver’s seat can be a problem too. Driver positioning is important, maybe even more so in a performance vehicle. A seat/power option would offer choice which isn't a bad thing.

On long drives, greater than 1 hour, the pressure on the hip bone of the drivers leg can be very uncomfortable. A slightly more compliant or larger seat and cruise control would help.

This car is a blast to drive on trips otherwise. All Vipers seem to like 3rd and 4th gears, especially the higher hp ones! You can really waste some of the quicker, smaller engined cars. :2tu:

The seats are way too tight in the hips. And it's not just because I'm a lardbutt. A 170lb friend of mine says the same thing.

I am VERY uncomfortable in the SRT. I can drive hours in the GTS. Why there needs to be so much side bolster I will never know...that much is not needed and it gets in the way of shifting.

I put a Sparco EVO 2 in my car for Viper Days and other track events primarilly to get my body lower in the car and below the Autoform roll bar. I had Autoform make a slider bracket so I can adjust it forwards and backwards. The slider adds about an inch to the height(of floor mounted EVO2)but it gets me low enough and I like having the adjustability because I put the seat closer to the wheel on the track than I do on the street. This seat is very comfortable and adds a great deal more support on the track over the stock seat. I'm 5'-8" and 240lbs. and it fits me very well. I have driven the car with this seat all last year and found it to be not quite as comfortable as the original but it works well especially on the track. It is comfortable enough that even though it only takes 5 minutes to switch the seats I leave it in all summer. The biggest problem is having to wear the six point harnesses all the time. Any replacement seat will require some kind of modification to the factory seat belts as the buckle part of the seat belts is an intigral part of the factory seat. So keep that in mind when going to an aftermarket seat of any kind.

Sparco makes a recliner that I'll be checking out this weekend. I'll let you know.

Oh and where in FR do you reside? I'm right off Alton and Towne Centre.

Up Alton at the top of the hill. If I get the beast running again by next weekend, you'll hear me!
