Rivalry???

I searched the forum for something earlier today and came across a thread that contains the link below. It’s a link to a top-ten list on a Vette Forum. It’s an amusing list of top-ten reasons to own a Viper vs. a Vette. I never realized the rivalry between Vettes and Vipers was so fierce until I began hanging out on this forum. It seems some folks get a bit too wrapped up in it. I think it’s frivolous.

Anyway, this would be my reverse top-ten list.

Top 10 reasons to own a Vette vs. a Viper:

10 - You don’t have to fight a crowd to get in and out.
9 - Computer controlled traction and suspension allows you to nap while driving.
8 - Built-in navigation system to entertain bored passenger.
7 - Roomy seats allow driver to wear his fanny-pack
6 - Automatic transmission means your 15 year old can borrow it for his driver’s test.
5 - Low door sills make it ideal for senior citizens.
4 - Good EPA fuel rating will get you a free Sierra Club membership and discounts on granola.
3 - Fixed roof will hide your bald spot.
2 - Impress your boss by owning the same type of car his wife drives.

And the #1 reason to own a Vette vs a Viper:

1 - You can sneak around town totally unnoticed.

This is so true. My fieanc'ee Ginger was looking to replace her SUV (her tour of duty with the kids was over) with something sporty and a convertable. She started looking at he new Mustang and was frustrated that it didn't come in a rag top. She said she wanted to go look at Vett's and I asked her what for? everyone owns one they are everywhere. I said if you want to have something with class take a look at the Viper if you really want a cool Mussel car. The rest is history and yes, she knows how to drive it.

If Ginger wants a cool car then Viper is the only way to go.

The other day I walked out of a gas station after paying for my gas and saw a young girl posing in front of my car while her boyfriend took pictures of her. Owning a Viper is like owning a one-man car show.

Obviously that guy has never owned a Viper let alone driven one. Closest he has ever gotten is probably a poster of a Viper in his closet or the PC screensaver he drools over.
