How do you like it?
Is it worth losing precious trunk space?

Any pics?

I have the stock radio, will upgrade just the door speakers in spring and thought the multi disc might
be nice :)

Thanks
JIM

I have one also. Installed back in 1995. I have not been overly happy. Could be the position I have it in though. I have mine mounted vertically in the area beside the spare tire (below the carpet). Fits okay but I have way too many skips, especially when cornering. Another issue is it does not reliably play CD-R. And definitely will not play mp3 files. Guess some people just cannot be satisfied.

Jim by the way the post by Viper SRT says that it doesn't play CD-R reliably, well I have made plenty of CD-R's and had no problem playing them.

adam

PS..sorry no pics I am in process of buying digital camera to work with my printer..I'll get you pics asap

Mine is mounted horizontally all the way forward in trunk and kind of centered..Seems out of the way of all my covers and top/torneau bar

Adam,

How old is your changer? Mine is now 6 years old. When I have CD-R discs in it it sometimes comes up with an error and the only way to clear the error is to remove the cartridge and replace it. What a pain. Thus I limit use of CD-Rs now. Being mounted vertically may be worse though there is an adjustment for that orientation.

Has anyone by-passed this problem and installed an MP3 player in their Viper? I have an Alpine MP3 unit in my wife's Miata and think it's the way to go. I also noticed that Rockford-Fosgate will soon be offering a 20GB MP3 unit that can be wirelessly downloaded from a PC...very cool!

Hey Ronald,

Mine was oem in my viper and mines a 96 rt/10 so its going on 7 years. Use high quality CD-R's and try mounting it horizontal to stop the skiping I guess.

Adam..

PS..I'm feel like Black Sabbaths song " Snowblind"..2 feet of snow, still snowing

I've been looking at changers and I think the MP3 is the only way to go. But instead of a hard disk unit I like the CD changer that plays MP3 files off of CD. No need to down load and you can put almost 200 songs on one CD. So with a 6 disk changer that's more music than you can listen to in a very long time........ Plus it plays normal CD's as well as MP3 files.

Adam96. Mine is about the same timeframe. The skipping and the error are unrelated. Skipping occurs especially during cornering and may be adversely affected by my mounting it vertically. The error occurs infrequently when I have CD-Rs installed. The CD-R plays okay, with no more than normal skipping (again really only while cornering), but will occaisionally cause an error. The error almost always occurs when I first start a CD or start the car. Never figured it out. But since I have an SRT now I am not going to worry about it. Plus I only listened while on long trips. The exhaust music is normally adequate for my ears.

A new SRT? Huh! Well I guess you won't have to worry about that old cd changer anymore. Good Luck with the Asp.
