running on 9

I appear to be running on less than 10 cylinders. I have new wires that I need to install. PRetty sure it is cyl 9, right at the firewall drivers side, as it is 100 degrees colder at the header pipe than the rest.

That cat/drivers side is running hot too.

I took the plug out it looked ok. I put in a new plug after snapping the ceramic insulator of the new one. Then I pulled the no. 9 wire and measured the resistance, it reads the same as the brand new wire I got from the Viper Wizard.

I don't look forward to putting the wires in, but need to anyhow with 10K miles on it...I guess.

Anyone experienced the pulsing of 9 cylinders and found an easy way to see which one was bad. Wouldn't the wire have a different resistance if it was bad?

Any advice appreciated. first time it has ever misfired or run lumpy.

No engine mods, belanger headers, rt metal high flows, tnt exhaust.

New champion factory plugs, original wires.

Any ideas on what I might look for? 2nd time out and i really don't feel like cooking a cat.

thanks

Kevin

Don't drive yourself nuts ... Since you already have the new wires go ahead and change them and see what happens :)

Best of Luck!

What Doug said.....you have the wires so go ahead and do them. Also check the injector connection. Stock connectors ****. I have pics of stock vs aftermarket connectors in my pic gallery.

While changing wires/plugs on Vipers last summer, I discovered that 99 ACR with 8000 miles had a completely fouled plug #5...and, plug wire resistance tested over 2000 ohm...no trouble with new wires/plugs (Mopar HP wires/OEM Champion plugs). It's a simple, easy, cheap fix while you look more closely for other problems

Thanks guys, i threw #9 wire in and it fixed it last night. now I'll replace the rest for a matched set. Plus I need one new plug for the insulator I cracked installing #9.
