Has anyone tried this stuff on their garage floor? And, if so, will it withstand the Viper driving in and out over it? I see it at Home Depot, etc. Thanks

I have had it in my garage for over a year with a Viper and Vette in and out. It is holding up very well. The only problem is when it is wet it is super slick. It also will not stain from oil or other chemicals.

Just installed it this last summer, seems to be holding up. I don't think you can go wrong for the price. As to being slippery, yes but they give you paint chips to spread on the floor for this purpose, I wouldn't recommend skipping this step because it is very slippery without them. Also, don't skimp on spreading the paint chips you will find that most of them will not stick. Here is a partial picture of my garage after applying it (sorry its the best)

I can offer you some advice. Don't buy BEHR concrete stain from Home Depot! It came highly recomended and I prepped the new concrete and all with muractic acid...let it dry 3 weeks before I brought any car on the floor. I bring the Viper in there and let it stay in there a few days...back it up and it pulled up the stain from hot tire pickup. Needless to say I wasn't a happy camper...

Then again...I spoke with a professional painter and he said sometimes even with the best paints (F&H etc.) for concrete even when applied correctly, will come up. It is sometimes a roll of the dice...no guarantees....

These folks specialize in Industrial Epoxy Floors, but you may want to look at an additive they offer called "Garon Grit" it is a quartz grit added to prevent an epoxy floor from getting slippery. They offer their products in 25 different colors.

It will be hard to beat the Rustoleum price though. One thing to AVOID is any enamal based floor paint, gas will eat it up, and oil will stain it.

As a distributor of Thortex America products we add plain ol silicate sand into the coating , then backroll it and you have a non slip surface. If anyone needs prices email me.

The best products we have for floors is our Floor tech FB. It is a 2 part epoxy that wears like Iron. It requires the use of a primer first.

Average cost is $.30 per sq.ft for the primer.
Average cost is $ .95 per sq.ft for the floor coating

I offer all VCA members a 20% discount off these products. So reduce the $ 1.25 per sq.ft. and the cost is around $ 1.00 per sq.ft.It comes in the following colors:

light grey, mid grey, concrete gray, dark grey, stone, sandstone, yellow, pale green, mid green, dark green, mid red, and dark red. We may not have all colors in stock and may take a few weeks for certain colors.
These coatings are 100% solids, not the 10-20% cheap epoxies that generic home stores carries. Various existing conditions require different primers. This coating we use in chemical containment areas and will resist almost all chemicals. Each floor is slightly different. Anyone that needs certain coatings let me know what the exact condition is of your existing floor and I will let you know what you need.

Thanks.....

NSX you say Two months it lasted? You are happy with that? That is what I am saying, "cheap" epoxies don't last and prep is the key! They typically have very low "solids" contents and are more like paint then an epoxy. So they wear quick.
