here is what i have never understood - why all the moving around of these cars between CAAP and Prefix? every move increases the chance of doing damage to a car and if damage does occur, it takes more time and money to fix the damage. also, all this moving takes alot of time, and it delays delivery, etc.. Prefix is basically a body shop, and it isnt a large one either. if Prefix has been assigned to do the work, then why couldnt Prefix have a small area right there at CAAP to do their work? just seems like things would move along faster and decrease the chance of shipping delays and damage. isnt there a more efficient way to do this?

If CAAP is using union employee's and Prefix does not then there would be a BIG problem with having non-union employees (Prefix employees) in a union shop (CAAP employees).

OK that does it! The Viper has got to be the coolest car of all time. What other manufacture would let you see your car being built!

Yes it is the coolest car .....
but hate to bust your bubble ... I personally walked 6 Vettes down the line in Bowling Green and had select car parts signed by the appropriate folks ....

I love the pictures! There's a massive variety with colours and stripes. Add in the Vert, Coupe or ACR..... I want one of each!

ACR's striped steering wheel is installed at Connor Ave.

Just got a photo of my car at Connor with red striped steering wheel installed, going to Prefix for wing, splitter and red stripe.

Anxiously waiting .....

Do any of you know if they re-clear the panels after the stripes are added? Thanks

Fact: The SRT10 / ACR stripes are masked and cleared, but NOT the panel. This gives the stripe an elevated edge (that grabs wax and fingernails.....)

Exception/Trivia: If you bought the 2006 (rare) SnakeSkin Edition stripe, you had the surface cleared, not just the stripe.

Trivia: OE stripes from 96-02 Did have the entire stripe and panels cleared

I noticed a large amount of "Parts Rack" stickers throughout CAAP during my tour in June. I even asked about the 08 hood, and the tour guide was about to give me your name and number. We had a great conversation about how much of an asset you are to the VCA and Viper community in general...very good stuff.

MANY THANKS for noticing............he must have been a MACK/CAAP Old-Timer! Several of the guys and 1 gal who were there and built my 96 GTS (1st retail delivery) were there on 6/8/96, as well as VOI-10 !
