Seat Belt Problem

I have a 96 RT and 9 out of 10 time the passenger belt locks after about 14" is out of the retractor. Any ideas?

Take it out and see if there is dirt or debris in it. Also while it is out, lube it.

Yes indeed, something is wrong, bound up, .......
I just measured mine, 64 inches, about enough to capture the driver as well.

Mine always locks against my chest under hard acceleration. I consider it a feature, just like the predictive impact technology in the Lexus ads with the sliding sideways pickup.
