A while back, there was some discussion on this board regarding a device
that sat on the dash (or in cig. lighter) and would measure 0-60 and maybe a few
other stats. Supposedly, pretty accurate. Anyone remember what it was and where to get one? Any experience? Accurate?

Thanks,

There are several different products in the G-Tech lineup.

Amazingly, very accurate. Quarter-mile times also accurate within a few tenths...

The original G-Tech is a little harder to calibrate, and is only $30 now. The new ones do a lot more (like record lap's, etc.), and can be downloaded into a computer.

It runs about $200 (I believe there was an official supplier selling them for $189 on Ebay) for the new ones.

Here's the lineup:

Achilles99,

Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for. I'm buying one. Should be fun to play with this spring.

JD,
Good to know you like it, I'll bet it will be distracting. I'm sure with your car you test the limits of that unit. Their average customer probably isn't running something north of 950 HP!

****** is in this game too eh? Looks like a slightly less sophisticated unit, but maybe it's all you really need. Much cheaper (cost).

Both units mention that you need to enter the weight of the vehicle for their units to calculate HP. How can I get my car weighed? I can look up the factory spec weight (about 3,400 I think) but would like an exact weight of my vehicle with its mods, etc. Any idea where I can go and get that done? Truck stop?

I have a Mr Dyno.

Battery operated (no cords hanging down) and only $79.95.

Measures 60', 0-60, 1/8, 1/4, and everything else.
